Skyrim Freezing Randomly

You can add it right under u Exterior Cell Buffer, but it's probably 5 already by default. There's no point in lowering it more. If you want to raise it, see my above warning. I'm not saying you shouldn't raise it, but just don't save your game until you know if it's going to be stable.

I had a problem with constant crashing in Dragon Bridge before (and certain other zones), and what worked for me was unpacking the texture files from textures.bsa in your Skyrim data folder, as sometimes the game has trouble looking them up.

This will take up a considerable amount of space, and undo all your texture mods (you will have to re-apply them), but it worked for me. I hear the other bsa files, especially meshes.bsa can have similar trouble, and be fixed the same way.

There are some different utilities for this like BSA Unpacker. I cannot remember which I used.

So I am facing a parallel problem, my game freezes every 3-5 minutes for 20 secs or more, then it unfreezes and does the same thing on loop. The sounds are playing on the background just the models are frozen. I've tried Verifying my Cache on Steam but it did not help. My save file is around 24,5 Mb. It wasn't that big save file since I have seen saves like 100 Mb and more. So I started a new game with the same mods applied just to ensure that the problem wasn't the mods that I have installed. Indeed the problem was not the mods but my save file. When I started a new game I didn't have any problem and everything was going fluently. So I guess it must be the size of my save file, still though I am not that sure. Has anyone had the same problem as me? If yes is there any possible solution for that? Apart from starting a new game again? I have done this 4 times and believe me its really exhausting. Edited by TerrorDetonator

Do you have ENB enabled? I think for me it begins when I put the ENB files into the skyrim directory (even when I turn it of through shift+f12 ingame). I can play the game completelly fluently, but after some time it suddenly freezes (with the music continuing) and I have to wait 5-20 seconds and then I can play fluenty again until it freezes again after not more than one minute. The strange thing is that those freezes do even occure while beeing in the menues (shops or inventory e.g.) so i dunno.... Edited by rauhfaser
