professorremnant
Problem: Piper is short. Like, she stands about as tall as the Newspaper dispensers in her house. I think Nat is actually taller than her.Only two culprits could be at play, the Vault Meat as Piper mod, or CBBE.I've ruled out CBBE because if that was the case I'd have noticed other diminutive NPC's around right? And after uninstalling the Vault Meat as Piper replacer, she is still...really short.Any eggheads in the house know what's causing this? Or should I find a face retexture to christen Pipers new status as Nats twin sister?
montky
howdy Prof.Remnant.while I am not an "egghead", nor terribly prolific with FO4ModFu,I try to assist below, as this what-the?! problem could happen to any. if piper is near the same height as her sister, then she is 4'9"/4'10"piper is usually ~5'7". -is there a savegame you have as a rollback point, where Piper is 'normal sized'?or, does this seem to apply to all savegames on the present install? - do any other companions from the Vault-Meat (Companion replacer for Dogmeat) suffer from scaling,or only Piper etc? I've not had issues with the interoperability of "hireable strumpets/gigolos as Dogmeat Replacer" with Vault Meat, which, if you've not tried, is a hilarious replacer. I have had issues from some "amoebic sludge monster" companion replacers used in conjunction with Vault-Meat;they turn inside out, and clip or aren't manifold, and don't float like they're supposed to. do you have a modlist in spoiler partition to share?we could then try to recreate the error at local LAN Party club. is piper scaled' ie, she's proportionally all smaller,or, does piper look more like a little person/dwarf?if she looks normal just scaled, it is something scaling her...if she looks like a little person, that has me baffled if you didn't install any NPC overhauls or accurate physique mods. It might be a clothing for Piper changing her scaling coefficient,or, an early version of CBBE/Bodyslide conflict...early versions required an overwrite merge, otherwise, they were 'unlocked',ie, they could spontaneously have their params altered, usually when entering a cell, or from collisions...so, custom clothing items, which were made to fit other characters, might do that...a lot of helmets and such could be the culprit.and some onesies pajamas. I do have a few little people from Loverslabs "more accurate physiques' option pack, you can make people from 4'3" to 9' and all properly dimensioned and all.Lil betsy is 5'4" Lord Tyrion is 5'3", Kenny Baker/botboy is 4'9". I think Mini-me is 4'9"maybe, if a mod was made which had that as a dependency,it might cause a scaling issue... you will probably need to start over with a clean install, and save-game merge back into that,to be sure of it. Good luck,I hope we can find the answers to this,as, like I say, if it can happen to you, it could be a ticking timebomb for other folks too hehe. professorremnant
After digging around, the problem was resolved via console commands. Using GetScale, I learned the average NPC has a scale of 1.00, whereas the affected Piper was reading at 0.82Using SetScale 1.00, Piper has resumed her previous proper height. montky
gotcha, awesome work Prof.Remnant.thanks for letting us know how you got on. she must have had some item equipped which somehow altered her scale factor.this can happen with some items, and mostly where people use a clothing item made dependent on CBBE or Bodyslide etc,but use that on an install which doesn't have CBBE and Bodyslide installed. perhaps, while in a settlement menu futzing with settlement, inadvertently, Piper stood between the item and the player? or, if you download some LoversLab etc 'more accurate physique mods',sometimes they'll auto merge those to your companions... instead of you needing to open the pipboy menu and select the ref-string etc.
professorremnant
It very well may have been an issue with Bodyslide as I find with some CBBE outfits I need to go into there and make some adjustments now and again for consistency, so a slider may have been nipped somewhere in the process.
