Exergist Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 @BigAndFlabby well crap. I used the same file and named it Papyrus.xml and put it in the API folder but no luck. Ugh I may need to reinstall Npp and try the Autocomplete again with no other changes. Is there anything special about how you made or saved the Autocomplete xml file?

JonathanOstrus Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Nope. I just clicked the link on the wiki page. Hit save. It prompted to save as papyrus.xml. Saved it to downloads. Then moved it to the folder I stated. Check the Settings - Preferences - Auto-completion section to make sure you set that right. Enable on each input and function and word completion. That's what I chose.
JonathanOstrus Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) When you moved it to the APIs folder did you see all the other xmls there? Something I did just notice is that the auto completion is case sensitive. "Disable" and "disable" are not the same thing. Even though papyrus is not a case sensitive language. Exergist Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Hmm. I was directly copying the content of the github page, pasting it into a text file, and then renaming the text file (and changing the extension) to Papyrus.xml. Maybe I need to try saving the github content like you described.
Exergist Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Yeah I saw in another forum that the case for the word Papyrus matters, so making the file name match the file contents is probably a good idea. All the wiki content show capitalized "Papyrus" in the file contents so I figured Papyrus.xml was the way to go.
JonathanOstrus Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) The way you did it should work provided whatever you're using to save is actually saving with the proper extension. My xml is papyrus.xml with lowercase p. Shrug. Edited November 5, 2017 by BigAndFlabby
Exergist Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Yea I used Npp to save the file, so one would think that should work.
Exergist Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Thanks for mentioning the case sensitivity regarding the actual Autocomplete. Maybe I was trying to type code off-case during my testing. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
JonathanOstrus Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Well if you used NPP to save it, you need to close NPP, move the xml to the right place, then relaunch NPP. Keep in mind it will only auto complete if the file you're editing is set for Papyrus language.
