Skyrim Black Screen on Launch No Sound

It could be a corrupted save...have you disabled the autosaves...they can cause havoc. It sometimes works to go back to an earlier (complete) save if this is the case. Although I'm not sure a save before the 1.6 patch would be at all useful.

As for the mods, some of them have been affected by the 1.6 patch, so even if you haven' changed anything, the Skyrim patch changed the environment that they are in. It would be hard to tell which is was in this circumstance, without removing them all. Also if you are using any steam workshop mods, they are automatically updated, you may not have noticed the (often very quick) message on the load screen. That is one reason I prefer not using the workshop.

i found a solution! (it worked for me) when u hit the play button wait for the little black screen on the top left of the screen if u have that too and just when u see it hit cntrl alt delete and wait like 5-10 seconds then press cancel.... and try to load the game....

if u dont have a little black screen on the top left/right of ur screen when u launch skyrim simply hit cntrl alt delete amidiatly (i know) when skyrim launches....

this worked for me somehow i really hope this will work for u guys too.....

if this does work please reply

i found a solution that works for me. I downloaded an app called 'over wolf' think a third party version of the steam overlay with the ability to customize and add apps... pro modders might have figured out why I'm bringing it up. I had it set to open on pc booting up and it was causing the issues. After some digging I found out lots of people are having this issue with similar apps. This thread seems dead but as it was the first result when googling the issue I thought it would be helpful to post this solution for others googling it.
