Guest deleted19638214
Mod: BEWARE OF GIRL Type 3 HiRez HiDetailed Replacer (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34702)Issue: Cannot get past 'Archive Invalidation' on FOMOD installer. What I've done so far:Followed instructions by editing fallout.ini & falloutprefs.ini files.Added an AI!.bsa to the Data folder (outside of MO)Checked and Unchecked "Automatic Archive Invalidation" under my MO profile. Ive installed this in the past using NMM, which was very easy using the instructions provided by the mod author. It worked fine. But now I am using Mod Organizer and to my knowledge, the authors steps do not work for it. I need some help on how to install this with Mod Organizer. :confused:I've combed through google looking for this problem but found no definitive answer to fixing this. dubiousintent
Not an expert on either MO or FOMM, but a little digging found this on the TTW site: MO is pretty odd with archive invalidation for at least New Vegas. The simplest solution I've found is to go to the Archives tab (near where the plugins part is), and uncheck everything listed in there. Then launch the game, and either wait for it to crash, or wait until you get to the main menu and then find a way to close it (I normally use Task Manager for it). When you go back to MO, all of the archives/BSA should be rechecked, and when you go back into the game, the textures should all be showing up correctly. I would try to get "ArchiveInvalidation" working in MO first, and then install my FOMM mods. The primary problem is that MO uses a "virtual file system" (VFS) to populate the game "Data" folder. This means the "Data" folder is always "empty" except when the game is launched, and is empty again when the game closes normally. Since FOMM does not understand MO, it knows nothing about the VFS, and all it sees is an empty "Data" folder. The "Fallout - AI!.bsa" used by MO should be recognizable by FOMM. But MO keeps it in the "Archives" tab and not in the "Data" folder. The technique laid out in the quoted TTW post (aborting the game so it doesn't "quit" normally) will in effect be "leaving" the non game-save specific files (including the "Archives" tab) in the supposedly empty state "Data" folder, which presumably will include the "Fallout - AI!.bsa", instead of removing them when the game closes normally. So the "Data" folder "empty" state will no longer actually be empty. Before you beat your head against this problem, if you are running on Win10 suggest you read the 'About your choice of "mod manager"' section recently added to the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. "Things are going to change" in the near future. -Dubious- Edited August 25, 2017 by dubiousintent
Guest deleted19638214
Thank you for the prompt response! So that makes sense why MO wont pass the Archive Invalidation. MO uses the VFS, but the fomod wasnt designed for MO. Its looking in the actual data file expecting it to be installed there? So Im still a bit confused at how to bypass this with disabling the archives and using Task Manager to bypass this. I think Im just worried about screwing something up. My MO is loaded with mods ive been working on using the STEP process and Im paranoid about screwing it up. Thats really unfortunant about windows 10. Im using 8.1 so I think Ill be fine. MO is such a robust mod organizer that I am upset that it was abandoned. Edited August 25, 2017 by HadeusOfficial
M48A5
BOG is a replacer, so there is no .esp file that has to be in any mod manager. Just pick the body you want to use and install it manually.
dubiousintent
The trick mentioned in the TTW post is: after you go to MO's "Archives" tab, uncheck everything listed in that tab, launch the game as normal for MO, and wait until you get the "Main Menu" loaded (where you would choose to either start a new game or load an existing one). * At this point you need to use <CTRL+ALT+DEL>, which will bring up a list of options and you need to select "Start the Windows Task Manager". This should return you to the game screen with the "Task Manager" opened to the "Processes" tab. * Select the "Applications" tab, locate and select the "Fallout New Vegas" application, and in the lower right-hand corner of the screen click on the "End Task" button. If that doesn't work for some reason, select the "Processes" tab and find the "FalloutNV.exe *32" process, select it, and then in the lower rhight-hand corner click on "End Process Tree" or "End Process", depending upon which buttons are present. * Once it shows "Fallout" has vanished from the list in the "Applications" tab, close the "Task Manager". * Now, when you go back to MO, all of the archives/BSA in the "Archives" tab should be rechecked, and when you go back into the game, the textures should all be showing up correctly. -Dubious-
