Theres so many mod mangers for oblivion! But as i understand the most updated and renovated one wud be the Nexus mod manager right? And theres even a download link on the top right of the TESNexus so is that like an obvious answer that thats the reccomended manager to use?

Is the NMM the most compatible and successful manager to use with oblvion?

Wrye Bash.

I use both

for different tasks

NMM for installing and removing mods

Wrye for running BOSS, building the Bashed Patch, safety checking for missing masters - and once in a while for the actual tweaking of load order

Ok i when i install HGEC with NMM i get the pop ups with all the diffrent options.

NMM was tuned to handle OMODs properly

Yeah HGEC installed fine with NMM. But then when i want to install something like this 'Modular Beautiful People 2ch-Edition v1.4a Full (MBP)' http://oblivion.forum.jpmod.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=130

what manager should i be using? I read somewhere that installing more complex mods like this give mutiple issues with the likes of NMM.

The best way to install Modular Beautiful People is using Wrye Bash.

You'll have to convert the OMOD portions to archives, and make sure everything is set up properly for BAIN, but once you get them set up, you can drop them into the Bash Installer's folder, arrange the various components to install in the correct order, and you will know for sure that it worked right.

Wrye Bash and BAIN is just so completely superior to how OBMM and NMM do things that I can't believe people don't want to use it. Its terrifying how little information those programs give you, and how easy it is to completely screw things up with them.

NMM was tuned to handle the very interestingly coded OMOD for installing Marts Monster Mod

that omod gave the NMM designer headaches

so any mod that can be installed by any mod manager should be installable with NMM

with the exception of a few known mods that simply can't be installed by ANY mod manager

without external conditioning before installing

then the same external conditioning can be used to install it through NMM

An-Arane Cey - Lost Sword of the Ayleids -> being an example of a mod that needs to be massaged before installing.

I can only tell about Oblivion Mod Manager and Wrye Bash. I started using OBMM, but then I moved to Wrye Bash and I still am using it as my main mod manager. The only bad thing about WB is that quite often you'll have to make BAIN-friendly packages of the mods you download, but to be honest, I don't find that task annoying at all.

I've never used NMM, so I can't say anything about it.

EDIT: Some bad grammar.
