PLEASE HELP - Cultist Gloves CTD'ing my game when looked at in Inventory panel

  • Followed the SEEdit tutorial and did it for all masters
  • Taking out the modded textures in --- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Textures\dlc02\clothes\cultist ---- doesn't make a difference regarding the crash; are there other files which mention these gloves/this set of armor?

I can see them in the world fine when equipped by NPCs. But if I go loot them in a dead NPC or give myself a pair via the console, the game auto crashes when I mouseover them in the inventory screen.

fixed

Whoah, easy, guys, easy.

I got a fix that should work.

First, you don't want to take anything out. It's most likely the nif mesh file that has "_GO" at the end of it--that means "Ground Object." It's the object you see if you drop them or in the preview--they use the same file.

You probably also shouldn't be having your steam folder in the UAC folder.

Anyhoo. You go to your data\meshes\armor\superduperarmorname folder. Leave that open. Then, dl manually a copy of the mod. Open it with 7zip. You don't have to extract the whole thing. Go through the folders and find the matching file. It will say something like armorname_0.nif, armorname_1.nif, and the one you want, armorname_GO.nif. Grab that one, drag it into the open window from above, and overwrite.

That should fix it if it's a missing mesh error, and it sounds like it is. If only a texture was missing, it would be purple.

Cheers.

It's all good.

It was Frankly HD Miraak 4k which caused the crash. Something to do with the cubemaps...

Anyway it worked fine when I uninstalled it, real shame too, it's a nice mod but I can't have it all I guess.

Praise Talos for giving me such a stable game otherwise, never had so many mods going at once :D

funny, got the Frankly problem in 2k...

ground object problem... no... - it's there...
bad port... no...
always, if porting, do the creationkit thing, second check EVERYTHING for errors in SSEEDIT, than delete the errors wich could not be resolved

funny... because on one compuer it's running, on another not... only difference is the cpu

win7 running on machines:

NVidia GeForce GTX 1050ti (Retail)
Intel Xeon X3380 3.16GHz 12MB 1333MHz SLGPG LGA775 CPU Processor (Quadcore)
on the other
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 SLACQ 2,66GHz/8M/1066/05A Quad-Core LGA 775 Prozessor (...with one mod less now)

no skse64 & 4 sure no enb-preset installed
