formalrevya
So after about a week of playing a heavily modded game including such smash fps lowering hits as Project reality, EVE, a world of pain, warzones, Bornagains book of water collection. and a few high rez skins and outfits and guns and other mods I can't recall off the top of my head. I finally got frustrated enough by the lag to mess around with some features of my options.and boy was I surprised at what I accomplished. Suddenly I went from a game where walking down a mostly empty hallway caused five seconds of lag every time I turned my neck, to one that moved so fast that the experience was jarring for me. For the most part my game is still on the high settings, and I honestly can't tell the difference 9/10ths of the time where the graphics have fallen off.But here is the entire list of things I have turned off or lowered down with exact numerical values listed where applicable. Antialiasing- off Anisotropic filtering- off Shadows- disabled Tree LOD fade-15 Land quality- 75 ((lowest setting)) Now, I'll admit I don't know what any of those except shadows mean, but the point is there was a massive improvement whilst still keeping most of the visual appeal of the game. The most lag I had, very momentary, was a quick vort into the middle of a warzone area, which I think had a sum total of 20 or so actors in the area. Can anyone tell me why this is so? Fonger
will take you quite some time to see what anti-aliasing does but once it finally penetrates your eyes, you will kill to re-activate it. however its best to let you wonder what this does and wonder why grass and trees always look like you are seeing them through a screen window in the mean time try POTG (Performance of the Gods) mod - get performance at the cost of killing visual garbage
