WarKirby3333
Hi everyone, please check my attached file. What i'm trying to do here is modify the levelled item lists for imperial guards/soldiers, so as to hook up a few items which are already in the game but sadly practically unused (two imperial shields and three metal imperial helmets). I'm trying to give a light shield to all imperial soldiers in normal leather armourA heavy shield and a standard metal helmet, to all imperial soldiers in the "studded" (leather+ chain ) armourand a heavy shield for officers, too. Unfortunately i can't seem to get it to work. The new equipment doesn't show up on the guards around castle dour in solitude, and i'm not sure why. I've been sure to add it to every relevant outfit list i could find too. As an additional counterbalance to these changes, i've increased the armour value of stormcloak armour. I increased it tenfold temporarily to check, and that was definitely working. i checked the values on a dead stormcloak. so i know at least that the plugin works to some degree. but why won't my new imperial gear work ? NoAardvarksAllowed
I just tested it and it works fine. You have, in all likelihood, not given the game the chance to actually load your changes from the esp, and instead just continued from your saved game, so the soldiers are already spawned with the old set of stuff. Go up to one of your imperial soldiers, open console, click him, type resurrect and exit the console. That way he is reloaded from your .esp. Then kill him and check his corpse. He will have the shield in his inventory even if he won't equip it when he just stands around.
WarKirby3333
ohh, you're right. That works great! so is there a way to globally force NPCs to be reloaded? I've read about sleeping for 16 days or something of that nature, but that's incredibly tedious to do for the purpose of testing stuff. is there a console command for it? I also next need to look into not giving shields to archer soldiers (and not giving bows to melee soldiers). Any suggestions about that? (i'll probably figure it out anyway but advice is welcome)
jet4571
You can make a mod that deletes all the soldiers. run it and save(keep this save for testing as you would load it and not another). then load the game without it and it should reload all the soldiers from the mod with the tweaked inventory.
