mrspongeworthy
I keep reasonably current backups, so this shouldn't be a problem, but it is: Steam installed the latest skyrim update for me, despite being set NOT to do this. Unfortunately, this broke my SkyBoost compatibility, and for me Skyboost is one of those miracle products that works really well (22fps minimum jumps 27, the difference being "horrible" and "acceptable"). I'm stressing my system to the max running Stereoscopic 3D at 1080p, which has huge CPU overhead. Combined with Skyrim's already high CPU overhead and (lame) 2-core limit, I really need Skyboost to work. I have a backup of the 1.4.21.0 .exe file, but copying that back to the skyrim directory only results in a crash upon launching skyrim. There must be some other files which also got updated in that patch? Does anyone know which files? I *could* rollback the entire Skyrim folder, but I would really prefer not to, since it had been about a week since my last backup and I happened to make a bunch of changes to textures and other data during that week (thought I was safe with Steam being set not to keep Skyrim up to date and was only backing up my ini files and saved games. Foolish, foolish me for trusting Steam to do anything right... Thanks for any help you can provide. andiders
I want to know too. But too 1.4.24. When Skyboost worked and I never got CTD.
mrspongeworthy
Soooo, no idea as to which files I need to revert?
Cookie000
From what I know, you need 1.4.21.0 version of : TESV.exeSkyrimLauncher.exeUpdate.bsaUpdate.esm
fms1
There's supposed to be somewhere on Steam forums where you can DL 1.4.21, but I haven't been there to see (as I'm trying to keep my 1.4.21).
bben46
Skyboost was made obsolete when the same thing was incorporated into a Bethesda update. It's possible that your Skyboost is interfering with the same features on the new Skyrim update. Try removing Skyboost and see what happens. Just an FYI, Skyboost was not made obsolete, it was updated for 1.4.210 and still provided benefits for many users. It wasn't as significant as before, but it did still provide a nice boost. So far no version or update of Skyrim has brought performance up to the level of Skyboost for me - which is why the rollback to 1.4.210 is important until Skyboost is updated. Maybe 1.5 will really include *all* the optimizations in SkyBoost, that would be great! Edited March 13, 2012 by Mr_SpongeWorthy
