PrecisionMonkey
So I picked up Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition today on disc. Installed it, set it up, the usual deal with any new game. I decided to try it out without any mods to see if it would work. Of course the moment the cutscene starts, I get a nice shot of the moon and the game crashes, switching over to a "FalloutNV.exe has stopped working" box. First instinct was to try it again, same result upon doing so. I asked a friend for help, wherein he said someone else with the same problem just installed the latest drivers for his Graphics Card. I decided to do the same thing with mixed results; Leaving it unmodified, I briefly got it to work, but decided it could handle some mods. Of course, moment I added those (Tag Skills Improved, Better Ammo Crafting and Military Backpacks), it decided to crash at the moon again. I've fiddled around with the mods, but I've only gotten the same results. Has anyone else encountered this problem? My friend told me that someone he knew had it, but I don't believe only 2 people could have ever had to dealt with this. I have a Radeon 6570M card if that helps. Fonger
did you make the classic mistake of installing steam to the default (and therefore UAC infested) location
PrecisionMonkey
did you make the classic mistake of installing steam to the default (and therefore UAC infested) location Come again? It definitely installed into Steam, it launches from there, requires login, etc. If that's what you mean, then is there any way around it?
