ZombieSavant
Hi there folks, I just stumbled upon this beautiful texture and mesh someone did of a diving helmet for FO3, and I would reallllly love to have it in New Vegas if at all possible. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5692 There is the link to the mod. Since they were both developed on the same engine it should be relatively simple, right? I don't even care if it is armor or not I just would love to have the cosmetics of this if at all possible. I would gladly make a small (5 dollar) donation to any modder who could make this work. Many thanks!
ZombieSavant
I was also thinking; could it be possible to do a simple texture/mesh swap with a preexisting helmet? That would be just fine by me. :D
JimboUK
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=45444 Includes a guide on how to port stuff, it's really easy. Just don't share what you port without asking the creator.
ZombieSavant
I have almost got it figured out! Having troubles getting the textures to work but even a layman such as I was able to figure this out (most of the way :P) Many thanks!
ZombieSavant
Alright, I am stumped on the textures. He said that if the mod was properly packaged then there should be no need to alter anything having to do with the textures, but in game, it is incapable of finding the textures so it just applies random ones. How can I fix this? I am playing around in Nifskope but still can't figure it out.
ZombieSavant
Alright, last update for the time being. Still stuck on the textures. Couldn't see how to repath it using Nifskope, if anyone could elaborate I would be most appreciative. Checked out some guides, just no luck. So then I went back and red the original readme. Said that you had to make sure Archive Invalidation was toggled, so I tried it both on and off and didn't get any difference. As of now I am stumped. Meshes are fine, beautiful even, but just doesn't know where to get the textures. I tried reinstalling the meshes and textures too but nothing. viennacalling
Your texture issue may be due to the fact that the armor uses a texture set. (I have no idea what a texture set is, I just looked at the .esp file and saw it uses one.)
ZombieSavant
Alright, another hour of work with no progress :( . The five dollars is still on the table to anyone who can make this work for me! You shouldn't need nifscope, once you've copied the FO3 mod into your NV folder then the texture should be where the NIF expects it to be, the file structures are the same. Which mod are you trying to port?

Which mod are you trying to port? This is the mod I am trying to port over. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5692 Now I know I shouldn't need nifskope, but despite checking the pathing multiple times I am still getting the wrong textures on the helmet. The tutorial that you sent me about porting said that if you are still having issues that it means the .nif, for whatever reason, can't find the textures it needs, so I was trying to see how I could set the texture path within nifskope but to no avail.
