Prenihility
So according to the game i've "murdered" someone a long time ago. I could've just loaded an earlier save but i loaded one from 10 hours ago and it was still the same. I don't sleep much in-game. Then i noticed Lucien visiting me during a quest where i had to sleep. Apparently i've murdered one person. Probably a Sneak mode thing. I have serious OCD issues. I DON'T want this quest line starting on my character and i DON'T want it in my journal. What can i do? I have the UOP... so this isn't patched?! After all these years?
Surilindur
Does the SetPCAMurderer command work in the console? There is one listed in the OBSE Command Documentation. To set the PC to not be flagged as murderer, maybe something like this? SetPCAMurderer 0I am not on my gaming desktop at the moment so I cannot test, but if that works in the console, then maybe it would help? Or not? :ermm:

I ran OBSE Test Plugin to be sure OBSE is there. And it is. Why's it not working? EDIT: New character, used the command except set it to 1. The message appeared confirming the DB's acknowledgement of my "murder". It doesn't want to work the other way around for some reason. Why? TheMastersSon
Try this instead: 1. Check the stats page for total # of people murdered. Usually it's 1. If it's 0 then never mind the rest of these steps because they won't help.2. Open a console and enter:ModPCMiscStat 32 <nn>Replace <nn> with the negative of whatever number is shown in step 1, e.g.ModPCMiscStat 32 -1for 1 murder, or -2 for 2 murders etc. This will reset the variable to 0 and with any luck Lachance will stop bothering you. At least temporarily. I also play a few of my characters with no DB questline, and found a better/more permanent fix is to simply dispose of Lachance immediately after he finishes his shpiel during his initial visit. You'll get a notice about being locked out of the DB forever, which is perfect, and it's almost certainly quicker and more merciful than his scripted fate. :) Also, you sound like you don't know who you murdered. You should get a mysterious notice when it happens. If you were doing the quest "Unfriendly Competition" when the murder appeared in your stats, it's a known issue: if Agarmir is killed before he turns hostile toward you, it counts as a murder. Wait until he attacks (and even then, give him several seconds after it happens) before killing him.

And it's irritating because i go back a while to 4 levels ago and countless saves/hours. It's still there. I probably just wasn't paying attention because i wasn't expecting it. I know for a fact that changing the stat doesn't do anything, though. I actually managed to run away from him. If i click on him and type resurrect, he comes back to life and still walks towards me to talk. And again, why in the HELL has the UOP not addressed this insanely ridiculous issue? TheMastersSon
And again, why in the HELL has the UOP not addressed this insanely ridiculous issue?Just let him visit and then dispose of him. It accomplishes the same thing, and one journal entry imo is not only appropriate but necessary to remind players of why they can't access the DB storyline. "Disable". Did the job. No crashes. Nothing. He's not even in Fort Faragut anyway, is he? He doesn't appear in the game world until you murder someone if i'm not mistaken. TheMastersSon
Correct afaik, but NPC diables in general are a bad idea. I'd be curious to know what the game does now if you murder somebody else.

I'd be curious to know what the game does now if you murder somebody else.I'll try re-enabling him and test it. Wonder if the "prid" command works for targeting like it does in Skyrim. EDIT: Tried murdering someone before re-enabling him. Game does nothing. No crash. Even after sleeping. I DID, however, renable him and still nothing happens after committing a murder. Hmm... I always wondered why NPCs had two RefIDs. I tried both. I use the moveto player command and he is back in the game world. He just doesn't do anything when murdering someone.. Hmm... EDIT 2: So i tried something different. Loaded the save where i was standing over my bed about to sleep from earlier. I sleep, see Lachance show up and open the console. He has a RefID of 000177D2. ...? I target that. Load my LATEST save from when i solved my issue by disabling him and went to my bedroom in Battlehorn Castle. Type Enable. And he appears and approaches me. Odd, huh? Edited September 13, 2017 by Prenihility
TheMastersSon
Lachance can be essential or not, depending on quest stages. I think be becomes essential not long after his initial visit, which is why he needs to be killed immediately after. I think it's also why he has two RefIDs.
