Kodiak412
Save files will continue to grow as you progress in the game. How big is HUGE and where in the quest log are you? That is the only way we will be able to compare if your files are abnormally large.

What's happening? Please help. Thanks in advance. You can always do (for windows 7) My dcuments/My games/ Skyrim/ Saves Double click to open the Saves folder, and manually delete some saves you do not need. It's the individual files that are getting massive, from the norm of about 16mb each to now over 90mb.

If this is the case I would like to find out for myself. I do not want my PC to just barely chug along to run the game just because I am saving often. fms1
All my save game files are less than 14,500 Kb they are all auto saves but, my 1 hard save at the start, at character creation, at Helgen is 3,132 Kb, and I'm about 170 to 200 hours in game with almost all the main part of all quest lines finished. Kodiak412
13 to 18 meg range is normal, for a higher level character. I have never heard of hard save game files getting as large as 90 megs. You do have something crazy going on if that is the case. Some mods do not do a good job of cleaning up leftover crap, and all that can add to bloat. Perhaps you need to look at what mods you added when the bloat started to happen. Also as with any game that you can add mods to, hard saving early and often is the only way to go. If the Save Folder starts to get big back up the saves to something else (remote HD) and then you can delete them if you l want to save space on the computers main HD or SSD.
