GSGlobe
Hey there, Recently reinstalled Windows, Steam Skyrim SE and Creation Kit then went back to reupload a mod I normally use, permissioner are open on mod page but for some reason its not loading Story Manager and just gives an error that (quest) is not linked to Story Manager upon loading the mod in CK. Never had this problem before as Ive used this mod before and IT hasnt been updated, another thing is the Story Manager window is too big for My laptop screen and I cant shrink it. Is there a workaround for mods that use Story Manager so they successfully get loaded up in CK? Im stumbled.. IF anyone have any ideas that would be lovely. GSGlobe
It also seems like all mods I try to load that have something related to Story Manager doesn't load, I get a warning in the CK "quest not added to story manager" When I know several people are using the mod and it works, its getting abit annoying. Any clues whats going on? I did try to reinstall Skyrim SE and creation kit but still gives me the error, what am I missing? and why is creation kit not loading story manager? :/

If your mod loads DLC esms it could be an issue if you haven't cleaned them since reinstalling. If that's not the issue then it sounds like maybe the CK installation is messed up. Temporarily move your CreationKit.ini and CreationKitPrefs.ini to another place (so you can restore them if the following doesn't work). Then load up the Beth launcher and validate the CK files so it makes new ones. Try again. If the problem persists I'm not sure where to go next. GSGlobe
Hi, Thank you for your reply, you mentioned cleaning DLC esms. I have never done this at all, I'll look it up but the only thing I have installed on this computer is WinRar,Steam,Skyrim SE and Bethesda Launcher and Creation Kit at the moment, not sure why Creation Kit would act this way. I've tried 3 mods now that I've used in the past that all use Story Manager and none of them are added to it, just gives me a warning when Creation Kit finished loading assets. I'll try moving ini and prefs.ini and validate to see if that makes a difference. Does your creation kit load Story Manager ok? GSGlobe
This is how it looks like; https://ibb.co/enThKF  Edit: Tried your suggestion, moved ini files and validated creation kit copy from Bethesda launcher, it created two new ini files but error still came up :/  I'm abit lost on this matter, I'll try reinstalling Steam and Skyrim / Creation Kit yet again but did that once already so not sure if that's gonna help at all.. Would anyone be so kind to download (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/17334/?) this mod here, boot it up in CK and look into the (lfqst under quests) and see how the quests starts in the SM Script Event Node? So I could add it manually, would be very grateful for any help given here.Either write it down but best would be a few screenshots. Edit2: Tried reinstalling Windows, Steam,Skyrim Se,Bethesda Creation Kit SE but still same thing happens. So I beg of someone to help me set it up manually by taking screenshots how it functions, Im completely lost here :/ Thanks,Best regards Edited September 12, 2017 by GSGlobe
lofgren
I replied to your PM but I will also place my response here, in case others with the same problem stumble on this thread. At least in the two specific cases you mentioned in your PM to me (LF Tactical Magic Combat and Contraband), those quests were never meant to be added to the story manager. The warning is appearing because they are set to be triggered by an event in the quest form but never added to the story manager. The warning can be safely ignored. GSGlobe
Thank you so much for your reply! At this moment, I don't know if I should laugh or cry, one thing is for sure anyway. I wiped my computer twice so I guess its more clean than it will ever be this year. Haha I need more experience with the CK and how things interact with each other, I thought the quest needed to start because of the warning to read the functions on the quest script, I think I never would have bothered with it if it weren't for the mod not working so I guess the fault lies somewhere else at this moment. Your mod for example needing SKSE.. Need to open my eyes abit more, wow.. I'm tired :[
