I just made my TES5Merged patch, and am not clear- should I activate it before making the Bashed Patch?

After, once I've made my Bashed Patch, should I keep it (or both it, and the Merged Patch) active for the rest of my patching (Pre PaMa -> Patchus Maximus -> SUM -> FNIS -> DSR)?

Should I be activating each Patch that's generated along the way, as it's generated? Or should I do all of them and then activate all patches?

(For reference, patches will be Pre PaMa, Patchus Maximus, Automatic Variants, ASIS, FNIS, and DSR, in that order, as I understand it.)

Thanks for help.

Creation order of bashed patch and xEdit's merged patch does not really matter. What matters is that if the bashed patch is created second, deactivate the merged patch. If the merged patch is created second, deactivate the bashed patch. Then activate both and load both in xEdit at the same time. Delete all conflicting records from the merged patch. In some scenarios, xEdit may not include leveled lists if the bashed patch is active and already includes them. But it seems that I'm the only one who has ever experienced this.

I do not know about any of the other patch types except for FNIS. FNIS you can run before or after the other two already mentioned as they have nothing to do with animations.

Personally, I would keep everything active unless a mod author specifically states that something should be deactivated.

Even if its 2 1/2 years later, maybe some guys are looking this up:
Dont deactivate one patch while making the other. But delete leveled lists from ONE of the patches.

And because Bashed Patch does leveling things WAYYY better then Tes5Edit, delete them from TES5Merged.

Greetings :)

You need to merge mods if you get close to reaching the 255 plugin limit if I am not mistaken.
