Game Breaking Crash

So I started another run with a revamped mod list and now that I've started Institutionalized live run into a problem,

whenever I talk to Father for the first time the game crashes two lines in. I don't have DLC. It's just a hard crash, no black screen or anything, just *poof*.

i suggest using loot to fix your load order....its a mess...

then check the unofficial patch pages for answers as well...

1st of all, as the above post mentioned, use LOOT to sort your load order (ESM files (Master Files) should always be at the very top of the load order, then ESP files)

 

2. check for any mod that edits the institute or is related to the institute in one way or another, disable them mods, and try again.

 

3. if the above fail, then you will need to disable all mods and then enable several at a time to find out which mod is causing the game to crash

 

i have never been that far in the story line so i have no idea, but i am going to assume something is supposed to happen once you have finished the dialogue that you are currently crashing on (so basically another script is supposed to fire but is failing, thus causing the game to crash, since it is base game quest related it is almost certainly going to be a script related issue), so i would check all your mods and see which ones have custom scripts, or edit base game scripts, and temporary disable them to see if you can progress.

 

have you deleted any mods at all in the progress of this current playthrough

 

in other words, have you un-installed any mod post new game ? preferably script related mods.
