Any way to remove the ugly vignette effect?

Those come from the information and built into the level effects in the area data gdas and there are three ways I am aware to get rid of it. The easiest way is to turn off buffer effects, but then your areas are going to be very dark. So you will have tweak the video settings in the game to compensate. Even lightening it thru that will leave them looking a little washed out tho.

Uploaded my personal, amateur, cobbled-together no-vignetter here... not sure why it works - since based on LadyHonor's far more in-depth understanding and explanation of the issue, a simple edit of the stock da_vignette.dds texture probably shouldn't work - but it does, at least for me. (See the screencaps on that page for a vanilla-vs-modded comparison. And I apologize if it ends up being a waste of your time. )

lol i'm not sure about the in-depth understanding thing....and you're probably right. i just know in all the experience i've had in building levels (i've made like 40 something of them! lol) that buffer effects are built into the levles, like the bloom and fade effects and you have two places to adjust those effects...the level properties in the object inspector and the areadata.gda's....i always *assumed* the blur height/width adjustments affected the vignette effects....BUT...the game uses textures EVERYWHERE, so in all likelihood, you're right here.
