danwat801
Is there a mod out there to where I can decorate my house, the way Oblivion worked? I liked setting up my house the way I liked it. It was what made having treasures fun... I liked tweaking things myself and making little custom shrines with gems and daggers and alchemy ingredients. I REALLY miss doing that. I know Oblivions control for objects were odd. But they are a HELL of a lot better then skyrims. It's night and day. Skyrims object control is a total nightmare. Mainly because you can only pick it up from one singular location & It dont dangle. So you cant manipulate its angle with gravity and precise pin points on where you pick the object up from. All you can do is bang it against a wall or something and HOPE you get the right angle...Thanks Bethesda but I prefer my house to be a treasure room of, get this, Treasure!... Not Carrots, apples, Iron pots, and Wine bottles... Like every other house in skyrim...

cdcooley
You posted in the Skyrim forum but included SkyrimSE in the title. For the original game there are four mods that allow arbitrary positioning of any object and all four require SKSE. They are Storage Helpers, Jaxonz Positioner, Cobb Positioner, and Utopium's Positioner. There are also a number of older mods that allow moving a limited number of furniture items static items like the one by Iceburg mentioned above which don't require SKSE. And then there are the supporting mods that simply provide craftable items you can use for decorating. A number of those mods are also designed to use Chesko's Campfire item placement system. For Skyrim Special Edition the only mod allowing positioning of arbitrary items is my Decorator Helper. It has all of the main positioning features of the big four above but uses a placement scheme similar to Chesko's and doesn't require SKSE. When SKSE64 is officially released I have a few small improvements I can make but the current version of Decorator Helper is already very usable. Not really what I was hoping for. I'm trying to decorate my house with shields and staffs and stuff. I tried to decorator thing. It dont seem to work with objects. Only for end tables, beds, ect ect.SKE64 will never come. I've come to accept that it will never be created. If it was going to be created, it would have been done by now. Millions of people are on hold for that project.... I wouldnt hold my breathe on it ever seeing the light of day. The creator of the project seems to have moved on and abandoned his program. If I were him I would ask for a $5.00 fee... I would pay. Why not... Could change his life, and it would be well deserved. He would probably make a million dollars in his first year. Then he can really amp up his game and make some really neato programs. I make 3,000-4,000 a month in this line of work and I'm not nearly as well known or needed. Everything you're saying makes absolutely no sense. Decorator Helper can definitely be used to place just about anything in the game. There's even a special grab selection mode for things like shields, staffs, etc. Did you follow my link or did you search for it and pick a mod with a similar name which only allows placing statics and furniture? The SKSE64 alpha is already out and has been updated three times in the last two weeks. There's team of people who develop the script extenders for Bethesda's games and all they are lacking is time to work on their hobby. They don't ask for payment or even accept donations specifically because they already have jobs that pay very well.
