No longer can play on low end PC

Hello forum people!

For some reasons F4 no longer playable on my PC.

CoreDuo e7200, 2gb RAM, 750GTX 2gb, yes i know this cant be called gaming PC, but F4 been working jsut fine right after release and last few weeks, but something is happened like 4 days ago, F4 starts lags liek crazy even in start menu.

Tried disk defrags, PC cleanup physical and virtual, reinstall F4/Steam, updated all drivers, without any mods, new game, lowest possible settings and resolution (editing ini files), performance mods, nothing helps.

Game cannot load textures in time, they popup in front of me (or i meet loading icon), also ground texture sometimes just keep reloading over and over (from low res to regular res and back while im staying and doing nothing.

Any idea wtf is going on? (get better PC doesn't count as answer)

Man, I feel your pain. All I have been told lately is to get a new pc :( I myself have the same issue after 1.10 and I have tried EVERYTHING... updated drivers, reverted to old drivers, removal of all mods, .ini files, interface files, saved games, deleted f4, reinstalled f4, removed f4se, I even reformatted & tried a pirated version of 1.9.4. Everything I do leads to a ctd on startup, and beth wont help me because of my specs. Something about 1.10 fried my pc, it was working so well before and now for some reason i simply cannot understand. good luck I hope your able to figure it out. I currently am playing newvegas again, and practicing in the geck for it. sadly, im just going to have to save up and buy a new computer.

probably not enough RAM although idk why that would be a new issue unless you just updated the game for Creation Club and that is intensive on the start menu. i'm not sure if it is or not, i'm still running 1.9.4 so idk

Not enough RAM is a problem, yes, but freaking game runs fine all the time till now, google'd previous patch fallout.exe but it didnt fix issue (may be missing some other files from previous patch).

Started new playthrough on survival like 2-3 days before free prey space suit offer ends and 1 day after new offer starts, everything was fine, did 3 supply runs from county crossing to starlight drive-in and cleared lexington, saved game, went to bed... next day F4 starts lagging hard (freezing constantly)

One thing you should do is, testing your computer with other games. What you describe could be hardwarefailure...

Another thing is, patches for Microsoft Windows.

Take a look at your taskmanager. Windows is know to have some problems with the patcher for quiet some time. It consumes 80-90% CPU for doing nothing, but it wont stop also. If thats your problem, disable Auto-Update, restart the computer, and try again. (but dont forget, your computer wont patch anymore...)

""""CoreDuo e7200, 2gb RAM, 750GTX 2gb """"" .... 2gb in your video memory is not enough IMHO to play this game, especially if you have texture mods. The minimum are 4gb and you will be struggling depending on other factors already mentioned plus depending how many mods you are running and what type of mods they are.

RAM memory is not a factor here but how much memory you have in your video card. RAM only control how many applications you can have open and running at the same time; since you are supposed to have only one ( the game ), RAM is not important. You can have 64gb of RAM and your game will be the same because it is controlled by your inside video card RAM.

40-50% for me but yes, i do disable it before i start game (via bat file, if it refuses to stop then i taskill it from CMD), also BITS and Superfetch (this one actually fixes issue once)

As for testing with other games, all i have installed atm is CSGO, DS3 and Diablo 3 (not considering older games like DS2 or Civ3), will run them and see if there is any issue.

I dont have any DLC (not even HD textures DLC) But here is the list mods i use:

Unofficial Fallout 4 patch (vanilla one)

CBBE

Achievement Mods Enabler

Better Settlers

Enhanced Lights and FX

True Storms - Wasteland Edition

Also tried these to fix the issue:

Optimized Vanilla Textures (makes things even worse)

Insignificant Object Remover

Disabling any or all of them didnt do anything sadly.

odd that as before i upgraded pc's i was running an amd athlon 64 x2 6400+ 1gb ati radeon hd 6850 and only 4gb of ram it did run it even though it killed my processor the cpu had melted to the socket lol. could be ram related as windows takes a chunk of the available ram i think 4gb is the absolute minimum memory for it and also what version of windows do you use?

Sorry to tell you, but thats not true.

I run FO4 with an old 1GB 450GTS. Sure it wont run on 1920x1080 with 60 FPS, but a (kinda) solid 30fps on 1600x900. And i´ve seen rigs with even less potent GPUs running FO4. Sure, the more the better, but thats not the problem here.

And part 2 of your statement is also not true. Sure, if the game only uses 8GB of RAM, and you have 64 Gigs installed, the rest lays dorment. But thats not the point here.

2GB is hardly enough for FO4. 4GB is hardly fine, 8GB is recommended for a nearly smooth gameplay and 16GB if you have some heavy mods. My normal RAM-usage of FO4 is around 7GB. And another 2-3 Gigs of RAM for the System. So 8Gig would be not enough for my setup.

2 gb of RAM ( as the OP has ) is not enough to properly run this game. 8 gb should be the minimum and 16 gb the sweet spot .... now if you add more than 16, it will not do anything extra to your game. You will not get more fps or make the game to run smoother at all but 2gb is not enough. RAM will control how fast your screen load up but the video itself will be taken from the video card ram memory. Good luck running this game with a video card with only 2gb or vram and only 2 gb or RAM memory.
