[LE] Creation Kit landscape bug

Recommended Posts

You can fix it in the heightmap editor with the smooth tool. Just increase the brush size and go ham on the entire map till all gaps are sealed. After that, reapply procedural erosion and sedimentation in a few passes to make the land feel more organic and it should be set. Note that the heightmap tool isn't supported and may sometimes generate errors when rebuilding the landscape. So do keep backups between iterations.

Heightmap Editor is totally bugged... It doesn't fix my map, it makes worse. Any solutions ?

You should be able to fix that in the Landscape Editor using the smooth tool not the Heightmap editor. Looking at the pic you have posted your worldspace is just flat at the moment so using the smooth tool will not hurt anything. My suggestion is to smooth out a few cells first, save your esp and then exit the CK. Load up your worldspace in game to make sure the changes took effect. If so go back in and change some more, and repeat until all your cells have been repaired.

I've had to do this on several occasions after creating the general shape of my world space in the Heightmap Editor. I've since learned not to use that "tool".

My whole map is in squares, it would take a lot of time to do the all cells. So it is not possible to make a custom worldspace without serious bugs... We need a new map editor not this CreationS*it or an automatic way to fix this issue. How could Bethesda make a very big map like Tamriel with a bugged tool ?

There are a lot of tools out there available to create a heightmap with other than the CK. L3DT is one. I don't think Bethesda used the CK heightmap editor when they created Tamriel worldspace. I have created several small worldspaces using only the Landscape Editor but they were small and it takes some time to do. This is an old thread but it may help you. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/809556-from-l3dt-to-skyrim-heightmap-tutorial/?p=6478091

But I don't want to use heightmaps... I want to make my map manually but I can't because of this bug. Also I don't want to smooth my whole big map. Anyway I realised that if I exit the CK and open again, remake the map and repeat that a few times my map will be fine, but when I open the CK again it will turn back to bugged.

Upload your bugged esp somewhere like Dropbox or Google drive and PM me with the link and I will take a look. It could be something to do with your settings or something you may be just missing out of frustration.
