Optimize Skyrim SE for 4K at 60fps?

Hi,

I recently reinstalled Skyrim Special Edition on my New PC. Here are my Specs:

OS: Windows 10 64 Bit Home.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1800X 3.6GHz 8 Cores[4.0GHz in game]

RAM: Corsair CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) Vengeance LPX DDR4

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 1070 GTX 8GB Real Boost Clock: 1784 MHz
Motherboard: MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon

Monitor: BenQ BL2711U 27-inch 4K UHD Designer Monitor[4K Resolution][60Hz]

I was wondering if anyone could help me with making my Mod Load Order optimal. I have some of the top rated mods installed for visuals[NO ENB]

I am playing at 4K. I've heard that turning off Vsync in game and turning it on via Nvidia Graphics Panel gives more stable FPS, and also AA Is not important.

Here is my SkyrimPref file - https://pastebin.com/YcgbSxEa

Here is a screenshot from the game - https://i.imgur.com/0CKvaQE.jpg

The FPS seems to be hovering at about 48-60 FPS Exteriors[48-51 when looking at fog or clouds like on mountains], and 57-60 in Interiors. I expected more. Can anyone help me to optimize this for me?

Should I enable a Remove Fog mod or install a different Grass mod? It seems to have an impact on FPS when I reduce the Grass and Object fade limiter in game.

Just remove any grass mods and you should get there. Just be aware that the GTX 1070 is not a 4K GPU, so it is the bottleneck in this situation.

Yes I am aware of this. I was not going to use this PC for gaming anyway. Obvious from the CPU and the Monitor but still like to get 60FPS stable somehow at 4K because it looks gorgeous. I might disable the grass mod and see how it looks.

I was actually thinking of returning my 1070 and getting the 1080 Ti since it is 4k ready. I might also consider overclocking the 1070 to see how it performs.

The Ryzen 1800x is fine for gaming, assuming that 144hz is not your priority (which in your case it is not). Ryzen is just fine for 60hz gaming, which is all you'll ever be able to do at 4K. I would highly suggest not even considering a GTX 1080 Ti if gaming is not your number one absolute priority for this system. If you're not a hardcore gamer, it's an absolute waste of money. I suppose you could use it for professional work, but there are professional cards made for some of those activities (like CAD stuff). It would get you better framerates at 4K, but if gaming isn't something you do most of the time - then dropping the settings would probably be better for your wallet.
