Compatibility Issues

Hi at all,

I've just downloaded and installed the new version of Catalyst (in the package the version numbered is 12.2 but once installed and click on the software information the current version of Catalyst is 12.3 - ? - ). I read all the features and apparently no issues are related to TES V.

But once launched the game here the first images that show up to my eyes...

What could it be?? I'm thinking that the best cause is the new version of Catalyst itself... Anyone can confirm this?

Best Regards

Sorry for bothering but what is MSAA? Multisampling? and if it's so how can I deactivate it?

Thank you

Best Regards

I saw the screenshot in this thread:

installed new graphics cards, now this happens

Apparently it was the Adaptive MSAA that was causing the problem, sorry for the confusion. You screenshot looks a little different but very similiar to me. You can turn it off, I think, by making sure that SMOOTHVISION HD:Anti-Aliasing has the Use application settings box checked in the Catalyst Control Center under Gaming and 3D Application Settings. That should force whatever settings you choose in the game launcher to work. Not sure if changing to normal Multi-sample AA from Adaptive Multi-sample AA, which seems to be the AMD default, in Anti-Aliasing Mode in that same tab will work. Personally I do not use any AA. With a 5870 at 1920x1200, my CCC settings are all use application settings and my launcher settings are 0x AA, 8xAF, FXAA On, Shadows turned down to High, and everything else maxed.

Edit: I am using the 12.1 Catalyst.

When I had the 12.1 version of Catalyst with or without AA forced didn't corrupt the graphic in that way, only the FPS were very slow down by the custom setting of CCC, which once disabled everything turned on normality and the game ran fluently.

Updating for the 12.2 version of Catalyst (at least the file got this version number) through software information (in Catalyst Control Center) the version of the software magically increases to 12.3...

Whatever It almost sure that is all about the new Catalyst release creating this "graphic bug".

Let's keep each other updated.

Ok guys looks like it is a problem somehow connected directly with new updates of Catalyst which go in conflict with graphic option of Skyrim.

I just ran Skyrim with AA disabled (by the option menu of the launched menu of Skyrim), loaded a game and suddenly all those graphic corruption vanished.

This is a first updated I'd say.

Best Regards

I'm using the newest version of CCC and I'm using an ATI Radeon HD 5770 OC 1GB DDR5. I get random missing textures and WAY TOO MANY fing CTDs. But not any graphical bugs like this. Wish I had more information to give you. Although conflicting AA properties (IE the AA settings in CCC and the AA settings in Skyrim) could be conflicting, which is what it looks like to me.
