[LE] Creation Kit crashing while loading specific ESP

Hi, I searched on the internet for possible solutions to my problem, but I haven't found any that have fixed the issue.

 

I'm creating a somewhat large esp. (It's not the largest I've seen, but it's the largest one I've made) (1,484 KB)

 

While I was creating my mod I noticed that the Creation Kit was taking a progressively longer amount of time to save as time went on. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I just thought I should mention it. Sometimes when the kit loads the esp it crashes during the loading process. I was able to get around this for some reason by making a copy of the esp and slightly renaming it each time it happened. It works totally fine afterwards even though this has happened a few times. (This started a few days ago)

 

The kit was crashing after a few minutes like it usually does until last night when I tried to load the esp. The esp loaded fine until about 10 seconds after it loaded. The kit crashes with the usual "A problem caused the program to not work correctly" message.

 

I persisted on trying to load my mod and edit it after being unable to find other solutions. After it loads I was able to get to the leveled NPC lists and click on one of the lists I was working on. The very strange part is that the kit doesn't crash as long as at least one of these lists is open.

 

I was able to continue work on my mod as long as I kept one of the lists open. When I needed to save I had to close all of the windows and VERY QUICKLY press the save icon AND open another list BEFORE it crashes. This very strangely prevents it from crashing.

 

I had the idea to keep the kit open on my laptop overnight with one of the lists open. This morning I didn't have to wait for it to load and possibly crash, before I was able to open a list after it loads. I noticed after it started doing this saving became instantaneous for some reason. It made me worry whether it was actually saving or not, but the memory amount for the esp kept increasing indicating it was saving. I was continuing work on my mod until I realized I made some mistakes. I thought I would be able to close the kit and be able to work on my mod like I had been doing using the method described above. The esp was able to load whenever I had to reload it after the kit crashes if I wasn't able to open a list quick enough.

 

Unfortunately the kit loads the esp just fine until it starts "Validating Forms" then it crashes. Now I can't even access the esp. I tried making it into an ESM, slightly renaming it, making a copy and renaming it. So far nothing has worked. I tried to load new esps I created and also the Unofficial Patch and other esps and esms as tests for the kit. The kit loads them just fine it just doesn't fully load my esp.

 

I'm making a Special Edition mod if that makes any difference. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or help given for this problem.

Woops. Last Night I thought that SSE didn't have it's own forum, because I didn't see it near the top of the page.

 

I saw Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and other forums for other games as I scrolled down the page so I just assumed the Nexus forums consolidated SSE and Oldrim into one forum. Turns out the forum for SSE was towards the bottom for some reason. I would think it would be near the top next to the forum for Oldrim.

 

@Aragorn58 Both my game and creation kit are fully updated. Thank you though.

 

@BigandFlabby I tried SSEedit on my esp a while ago and it gave me some errors about facetints for one of the new NPCs I created.

 

I have an idea I am going to try if temporarily removing the NPC doesn't fix the issue. I would consider posting my esp if my idea doesn't work and I can't find other suggestions or solutions. Thank you for the suggestions.

I tried temporarily removing the NPC and it partially worked. I was able to access the esp, but it was still doing the crashing 10 seconds after loading described above. I tried my idea which was to turn the esp into an esm and start the kit to make a new esp. I then made the esp dependent on the esm I created (The original esp) for some very strange reason it loaded and the 10 second thing doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. I REALLY didn't expect my idea to work, but now I'm VERY pleasantly surprised it did.

 

I would have mentioned this earlier, but I had to go to bed for work and I just got home a while ago.

Have you tried SSE edit on it? You didn't say. That's the first thing I'd be doing.

 

When I first started with the creation kit my saves suddenly started taking an eternity. It turned out I had dozens of navmeshes in from elsewhere in skyrim.

 

This seems to happen if you have your esp as the active file and then poke around in a vanilla cell to work out how to do something.

 

Now I always go back to the data tab and deselect my esp before nosing around in other cells. It's a pain because of the load times but it's a darn sight better than trying to sort out what's causing a problem with the esp.

I have similar problem.

I don't why CK crashes every time I load specific ESP. I tried Win7 compatibility mode, ran as admin, cleaned it with SSEedit (ITM and UDR), merged it with a new empty esp, coverted it to ESM and then loaded an empty ESP dependent the ESM and it all didn't work.

Do you now anything else that can help with that?

The weird thing it runs ok in the game without any crashes or bugs, it only crashes in CK when loads and I have no idea why and what to do.
