derpmochump
I just completed the game with all the dlc, I felt the vats perks were too strong, the level 30 perk too strong, 9 in all stats and then pick up bobbleheads 10s in all stats, too strong. All the dlc op gear, really turned the game off for me and made it a drag to complete as I was destroying everything purely in vats mode, chain killing huge hordes of enemies. So what I want is a vanilla experience without the DLC cheese. I have never modded fallout 3 before but I have looked through the mods and this wanderer's edition mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/2761/? seems right up my alley as it changes the LAME and overpowered VATs mode. Preferably I would prefer a gameplay experience where vats mode is totally disabled and the vats perks changed into something else. So... what I am asking is, does this mod work with vanilla fallout 3? What other mods do I run with it to make the game look good graphically? What mod loaders do I need? It seems like a lot of work to make mods work with this, can anyone on here please make me a guide I can follow to make vanilla fallout 3 be the game I want it to be? Thx. iXenite
This is kind of an old playlist - and some of the information might be a bit dated (that's what the comments are for - some of them are pretty helpful) but it should help you understand how to mod Fallout 3. It's a good introduction course. Fallout 3 Modding Series: There is also this video series on how to use NMM. The Nexus Mod Manager has had some changes since the Fallout 3 tutorials I linked above were made, so this new series that is focused strictly on NMM should be very helpful. Nexus Mod Manager for Beginners: There may be other guides on YouTube as well - I suggest you look as many as you feel you need. There is also of course written guides, and this forum post you made. It's really important that you learn how to mod before you begin modding - otherwise your time playing the game is going to be really bad.

They're also pretty popular - so they should all work just fine. oscarvdhooft
You could try a bullet time and/or sprint mod to provide alternative uses for your action points that aren't VATS.
