How do I fix this? I have a lot of mods but i can't pinpoint which one is causing it? Does any one know of any mods that can make this occur? This is really bugging me. :(

I might be your Skyrim NPC Editor. I have the same problems with dark heads, and I noticed it when I installed my Skyrim NPC Editor.

skyrim npc editor? What do you mean? I'm not sure what that is. Also another issue that bugs the hell out of me is that one of my mods removes the foot step sound when I run (not sprint, regular run). So It sounds..............akward...lol

Hmm... then I am not sure. I thought everybody by now had the Skyrim NPC Editor. Basicly it is a program that allows you to customize NPC's. I used it to make some NPC's placed in the Marriage Faction. I also used it to change the way NPC's look. IE better hair styles, make females younger looking like Maven for Example, and also changed the armors that the NPC might use as a default set. Example: Lisette I gave her Orcish armor insted of her default.

If you edit a vanilla Skyrim NPC or create a new one, you will mess them up and give them a dark face. What has happened is that the facegen data is wrong or missing.

Here is what you can do if the problem applies to a few NPCs, like if you added or edited some in a mod you are building:

(1) You .esmify the .esp in Wrye Bash and then load it in the CK.

(2) You select all the actors added or edited by the mod.

(3) You press CTRL + F4 to export facegen data. (It takes awhile.)

(4) You .espify the mod again using Wrye Bash.

There is controversy over this fix. Some people report that they must keep the file as an .esm or use both an .esp and an .esm. For certain situations, it is said that you do not need to do all four of the listed steps.
