Need help with nodding

I ment modding my fricken auto correct dose that sometimes

 

I need help with trying to figure out modding in fallout 4, I've nodded skyrim before and haven't ever had a problem but when it comes to fallout 4 I can't tell what is working and what isn't, so far all weapon mod' s with their textures army working mostly textures army working and I've tried messing with the ini file and it absent changed anything, I have a Skype if it is easier to show me what to do because, I learn easier when it's shown to me visually.

1. Enable modding for Fallout 4:

 

first go to: C:\Users\Your Computer Name\Documents\My Games\Fallout4

 

in the folder above add this: Fallout4Custom.ini

 

inside Fallout4Custom add this:

 

[Archive]

sResourceDataDirsFinal=

bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

the above will enable modding for fallout 4.

2. Download and Run LOOT: https://loot.github.io

3. Clean the files that LOOT reports as dirty - (using F04Edit)

and thats pretty much the start to modding Fallout 4

the rest is similiar to skyrim, so if you need more help let us know.

the only real difference between modding fallout 4 and skyrim, is the fact that you actually have to enable modding for fallout 4, via the method above, the rest will be similiar to skyrim.

I tried doing what you said but I'm getting errors from FO4Edit and it doesn't look like anything that I've seen on the tutorials.

how are you installing mods, manually or mod manager. if mod manager which 1 are you using, if you are not using a mod manager i suggest using 1, preferably nexus mod manager, i have been using it for years and never had any major issue with it. if you are using mod organizer i cant help with this program, but if you are using nexus mod manager i can help with this, i can also help with manually installing.

 

note: if you are using mod organizer (MO) then it will require extra steps to get certain mods to work.

 

can you post a screenshot of the errors you are getting in F04Edit, or somehow paste what it is saying here.

 

how much experience do you have in modding skyrim, as modding fallout 4 is very similar, after all they are both on the same engine, and both share the same conditions.

 

also can you post your modlist, so that i can potentionally help you identify if your mods are working correctly.

 

i will also be able to see if you have any mod that has potential conflicts and or mod incompatibilities.

I'm installing mods using Nexus Mod Manager, well usually since skyrim is easier to mod it would just crash and i would go through the mods and that was it. fallout 4 is a whole new game (literally and figuratively) iv'e never had this problem before with modding skyrim.

 

So i tried putting the screen shots but they are to big and i cant reduce the size, this is what the error says.

Cannot create file 'C:\Users\HP\AppData\Local\Fallout4\Plugins.fo4viewsettings". Access is denied.

i see your problem, i am going to assume you are on windows 10

 

basically the location, where the plugin list, load order etc etc, are on a sensitive location, basically windows has locked this location, meaning programs like nexus mod manager, fo4edit, etc etc cannot read or write the important files (which is why they are not working, and cannot install mods).

 

so what you need to do, is go to these locations, and Enable Read and Write for the files.

 

so basically first you need to view hidden files and folders, to do this:

 

Double Click on My Computer - Click on the Organize Tab - Click on Folder Search and Options - Click on View Tab - Where it says Hidden Folders and Files, tick the box that say Show Hidden Files and Folders

 

now go to this location --> C:\Users\Your Computer Name\AppData\Local\Fallout4

 

Now Right Click on Each file - Click on Properties - Click on Security Tab - Click on Administrators - Click on Edit - then Click on Adminstrators Again - And tick all boxes on the Left Side (Do these steps for all accounts and all files in this location)

 

Now you will also want to Turn Off User Account Control - Click on Start - Click on Control Panel - Click on User Accounts - Click on Change User Account Control Settings - Click on Never Notify - Now Restart Your Computer for this to take effect

 

if all of the above fails, you may have to take ownership of the harddrive, i will tell you how to do this should the above fail.

 

Note: The three main accounts that you need to do this for are (System, Users, Administrators)
