TIME DOESN'T STOP

So here is my request, although if someone merely knows how I can do it in CK I would be happy to do it myself. I want to make it so when you go into the character menu, inventory-map-skills-magic. Time does NOT stop around you, enemies can keep hacking at you. It is essentially the last missing piece of the puzzle to make Skyrim the way I want, yet I have no idea how to achieve this effect as I'm relatively new to actually modding these games myself. Any old Vets have any ideas or suggestions of how I could implement this?

but AWESOME.

problem: I don't think it's possible without changing the game's code. it's most likely hard coded that the game's main timer stops when you open your inventory or books and such... I've been thinking for a while about making a mod like this, but I just can't see how.

There is a way to have your scripted timers keep going through menu. So you could have game time updated when you left menu... but if you mean to have the action still going in the back ground, as if you were playing an mmo or some game you can't pause, ya no insight here.

Wait... am I missing a ton of stuff, or is half the game (the part I hate) not getting hit, not getting hit, then getting hit for 3/4 of your health then chugging health potions? even with maxed armor, blocking plenty, lvl 50 with about 30 of the levels straight into health etc, This seems to be most of the game. tiny insignificant hits, then massive 3/4 or so of your health in a single hit when some animation lags and keeps you from dodging, chug health potions to full. Not having the game pause for these health pots would seem game breaking.

Am I doing something massively wrong? I pray I am.

I think it depends on your playstyle. This is a mod I want for myself to compliment my current mod comp, as well as the balance mod I just completed. I also use categorized Favorites which allows me to have some more flexibility outside of merely pausing. I think you guys are right about hard coding, I wonder then if there would be a way to merely block access to the character menu during combat?

UPDATE : There IS a mod that blocks access to the menu, however it also seems to disable hotkeys, which is a bit strange. I've contacted him to find out his method in order to attempt to replicate/change it... but it seems like I'm the only one here who wants this. :(

I would definitely love to see a mod like this. One moment in the heat of combat with the exhilaration of potential death, the next idly perusing through your list of potions drinking liters of instantaneous health and other buffs, then back to the fight like nothing happened. A mod like this would do wonders for immersion and realism.

it'd be pretty amusing to set your character to dance while you mess with mcm settings with a new game. ^^
