Getting Npcs to equip custom armor

You can use the CK, or you can the TES5Edit. There are 2 steps:

 

1) create a new outfit entry, containing records of the custom armour you wish to assign to the NPC. This will require the custom armour mod to be made a master to the esp containing your outfit entry. In TES5Edit, you will receive a prompt to add the master when you add the custom armour to the outfit entry.

 

2) assign the outfit to the NPC. This will require you to edit the NPC record.

How can I make a new outfit? If I duplicate it I cannot edit it.
