EvilDeadAsh34
I'm having a problem. I am trying to increase the health/hit points of certain creatures and it's not working. I tried changing their base health and modifier but nothing seems to be working to make them take more damage before dying. I even tried changing going to the "Actors" portion of the CK and change their health there as well and still nothing. I've tried googling it and looked on the message boards but i'm not seeing any clear instructions on what needs to actually be changed for creatures to take more damage. For instance i changed a giants base health to 20000 (just to be sure something is happening) and they still die in a few hits. I know my character is a bit overpowered due to weapon mods but when i use unenchanted regular swords and not getting any stats bonuses from rings, armor and amulets i can still kill them in almost the same amount of hits. Can anyone please point me in the right direction because i'm seriously not understanding what i'm doing wrong. Thanks.
worldofscotty
Its as simple as going into the creature file. The one with the box head icon. turn off the stats tick, turn off auto calculate and increase level/stats, save and carry on. You can go to the Tamriel map and check on a spawn to make sure it has changed. Load in and probably leave the zone and reenter for it to reload. That should be it
NoAardvarksAllowed
First off, the easiest way to see what effect your changes have is to open the console, point at a giant and type getAVinfo Health. The console will tell you the actor's current value and reference base value for health. The current value is the actual HP the actor has and the reference base value is the health an all new Giant would have if it was spawned under the current conditions. So the latter value tells you if your changes are working or not. The ways to change the Giant's health is straight-forward: change the Race starting health, or change the Actor's level or its health offset. I'm sure you already are doing this the correct way, so the problem is something silly. Maybe the giant you are looking at is spawned by another mod that doesn't use the standard race/actor (GiantRace/EncGiant01), or you need a new giant to spawn for the effects to take effect (the Resurrect or Kill/Resurrect commands won't work since it will still be the same giant with the same refID), or maybe the upper limit to the value you can add in the CK is 9999 or something. Just spawn a new one with like +2000 health using the console, or fast travel around to all the Giant hang-outs 'til you get a new spawned one. In all likelihood, it will have increased health. EvilDeadAsh34
Thanks to the both of you for the advice on leaving the area. That was the problem I was having. I kept trying to fight the same giant in the same cell everytime and after i made a change it never recognized the new stats. I finally got it to work after i fast-traveled to another Giant camp... once i encountered a new giant it's stats finally reflected what i was trying to set it to. Thanks so much! Now i can start work on my mod again! Edited March 11, 2012 by EvilDeadAsh34
