river112
So recently, I installed a new graphics card (geforce GTS 450, still now great lol, but good enough) where I used to have a Geforce gt 320. After that I played skyrim with ENBseries on. FPS was much better (25 or so) but not good enough, so I deleted ENB again and played it normally (with some mods of course) After tweaking Skyrim some more and deleting the ENB series, Skyrim is totally, uhm, f*ed up now D=. For example, the loading times are like 10x longer where they used to be about 10-30 seconds (cities and houses shorter than landscape), the FPS is about 30 which is okay to me but when ever I walk, the game starts freezing for like 2 seconds every 7 seconds or so, because it's loading a new area in the direction im walking in. I lowered the settings, re-installed skyrim without any mods etc. etc. but nothing seems to work! Nothing changes. The whole game is just unplayable to me now. Also, the controls dont work anymore. I use a controller and when I turn the screen, the compass does turn, but the view itself doesnt. I can walk, hit, do anything, except turning the screen. (also happens when I use keyboard) So in short, after installing new graphics card, everything worked fine, suddenly (after some modding and stuff) it's competely messed up and unplayable. Please please please help me with this! I just can't play it anymore, even reinstalling doesnt work, or do I have to delete more files than just /The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim? PC Specs: Model: iXtreme M5120Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 620 Processor 6.20 GHzRAM Memory: 8gbSystem Type: 64bitsGraphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GTS 450 (made by Asus) EDIT: PS. I used to play the game without any lag even for a day or so on the new graphics card, so it's not because my specs are under the recommended (if they are) EDIT 2: These are my mods: Animation 1 (walking anumation for bows)ApachiiSkyhairArchmage robe replacement with darkened greybeard robesArmored sabrecat v2Bowlegged jumpfixCloaks of skyrimDeadly dragonsFemale and male breathing animations when idleHeight adjusted races and true giantsHellion arrowsImproved NPC clothingLovely hairstylesMidas MagicNightinggale phoenix armor replacementSkyrim HD - LandscapesThe AshenTrue black shadowmereUNP Varied guards and stormcloaksFlora OverhaulWars in SkyrimWarzonesWeapons and armor fixes Like I said, I also tried skyrim without any mods, so I guess it's not that, but who knows. Also, if you know any mods that cause this, please tell me, maybe I have it but forgot to put it here? EDIT 3: I also read somewhere that other people have these problems, but that they were fixed in a patch. I have my client fully updated but the problems only came after these changes. It was running smoothly on the lastest patch, but now it isn't anymore. Edited March 11, 2012 by river112
EvilJohn
Dear River, I have 2 Nvidia 560 GPU's and 8Gb of RAM on my Vista PC. Download/Install the initial driver from the CD;s then go to www. GeForce.com and have the website analyze your PC for Skyrim. It may suggest you install.some new drivers, etc. Turn off all other Apps Choose "Custom Install" and then "Clean Install". Skyrim runs perfectly for me when I do play it. Not much so far. I'm a Guild Wars guy myself. Have you overloaded Skyrim with 1,000;s of these new Mods that recently came out? That may be the problem right there. Do you know who these people are? Many of them are amateur developers and these add-ons can be filled with bugs. Dump those add-ons fast. Let the buyer beware. Hope this helps.

I don't ahve the latest driver software, haha thanks, I will try that and start without mods again. I hope this helps :) But I don't believe the mods have much to do with this, I only download trusted ones with a certain numbder of endorsements and downloads EDIT Okay the good news is, after updating the driver, the freezing stopped! Hooray, thanks :D But I still have one problem: The controls are still messed up. Where is the file where I can mod the controls? Because they totally work, except when turning the camera (the right analog stick) EDIT 2: I replaced the SkyrimPrefs with the original, and now it all works! Hooray :D Thanks for helping :) The FPS is insanely high haha :D Edited March 11, 2012 by river112
knovack1
Here is something you can try too. When done it reconmends what you need, and I think if your drivers need updated you can get them through this: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ Don't worry it does not add stuff like maleware, etc. It will scan your PC of what you have, and compares it with official game data that developers put out. It is free, and it tells you what you need to upgrade to play any PC game on minimal Specs. Good Luck Edited March 11, 2012 by knovack1
