Staind716
Him. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/487752257720056062/80FE2761ECE6CCC885F53865AF86A0D5588669EE/ It really depends on what you want. I personally have never gotten married in the game because I already made that mistake once in real life. I admit 60 bucks is a lot cheaper than I got off with last time but I'm not taking any chances. If I were going to marry anyone in the game it would probably be Ysolda. CyrusAmell
If your significant other is a follower then you can atleast adventure with them (and get that "well rested bonus" wherever you two are) so there is that to take into consideration. On the whole, the entire marriage system seems hastily tacked on and applied to a range of individuals perhaps not even intended for the role. One could easily imagine this as a way to introduce sex without actually polluting the light fantasy setting they were going for. All that aside, the Companions have a good range of candidates for the discerning bachelor. One need only become Harbringer in order to gain their interest. The College of Winterhold is home to a young Dunmer mage named Brelyna, nice enough but imbued with a terrible fashion sense when it comes to hair. If you go up the Dark Brotherhood story track you gain access to a nice apothecary named Mhuiri, a Breton from Markarth. However, if you wish for an independent with no affiliation with any of the factions there are a few prime candidates. There is Senna, a beautiful Breton Priestess of Dibella, the Goddess of Beauty, who can be found in Markarth. There is also Jenassa, a Dunmer Warrior with a taste for battle and death who can be found at the Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun. You can also marry one of your Housecarls but I always found the idea strange because they were forced into serving you to begin with. And of course you could use console or mods to expand your options or modify potential candidates that would interest you otherwise where it not for certain "features" (age, hair, clothing, stats etc). Short story, check out Senna if your into humans and check out Jenassa if you would like to wed an elf. You can then branch out from there to make your final descision - but that is just my advice. You can find the full list of Vanilla Spouses on the USEPWiki: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Marriage Edited March 12, 2012 by CyrusAmell

ToniPrufrock
With my first character I married Marcurio the mage, and I have to say that he was absolutely fantastic as a follower-husband combo. He works well with magic and one-handed weapons, and both in and out of his mage robes. For my character, who was a warrior/tank, he provided brilliant long-range cover with his spells and was very adept at using restoration magic on himself (though I made sure to give him healing potions as well). He survived for ages and has enough of a snarky attitude to keep any Dovahkiin in check when s/he gets too big for their boots lol As for looks, Aela and Mjoll are just gorgeous. (Enough to turn me, anyway. ;) ) and Jenessa the dunmer thief-archer turns into a big softie when you marry her, which is rather endearing. TheHunter666
I used a mod to marry the bard in Solitude. I dunno, she always appealed to me the most and has a pretty nice singing voice (especially if you use the mod that replaces her voice with /watch?v=Q9Dv4Hmf_O8) EDIT: Wheres that disable BB codes button....
