I really wish . . .

I really wish there was a way to force modders to list their mod/dlc requirements.

I only have the base game and due to financial restraints can't afford the pass yet. I know there are many many others in the same position.

I have countless times had to delete a mod after install because the author was too smeggin lazy to list that dlcs were required.

You can check the required mods list by pressing the 'Required' tab under where the download numbers etc are. Sometimes if they aren't listed in the description, they will be listed there and sometimes people are just too lazy to look for it.

theirs literally 6 places where the author can set the mod requirements

1. Main Description (a place many do not check, and likewise this is where quite a lot of mod authors put important information, including mod requirements, i am 1 such author that does this, however i do make sure that people know if my mod requires the dlc or not, as i literally do all methods below)

2. As Mentioned Above, the Required Tab

3. A Notification when downloading the file

4. the Tags Tab

5. a sticky post in the main topic section, or at least 1 post mentioning them. however others would mention it, if it was not listed and the mod in question does indeed require a dlc, case in point, research before downloading a big mod (if the mod is small and does not have listed requirements, whats the harm, it took you 2 minutes to download it, no problem, and if the mod is a big mod, you should be researching the mod anyway, to see if it will work with other mods).

6. a forum to the mod in question

so chances are you are either not checking these 6 places. or the author really did not put up requirements.

not only that but it should be common sense whether the mod would require a dlc or not, just look at what the mod does, this will be a dead giveaway if it requires dlc or not, and lastly if using nexus mod manager, you will very quickly see if the mod requires a dlc or not, as the plugin will be red indicating their is a missing master file.

with that said, can you list some mods that do not mention required files, i would like to make sure their is definitely not a mention of a required dlc, i would also like to make sure that the mods in question are not blantely obvious that they require dlc.

I thought that if the author put the DLCs in the required files tab, a notification to that effect automatically came up when downloading. Making twistedfatal's point#2 the ultimate fail safe. Or am I wrong on that?

Ya know, 10 years and I didn't really see that Required Files link.

But I did just go back and check a few I could remember I had to delete after finding out they needed DLCs and none of the 3 had requirements listed anywhere and haven't responded to anyone in their forums/posts in over a year.

Oh, and Twisted, the Red in NMM is what did tell me. I always go and sort the LO after installing and I saw them.

It's a good thing I don't have a limited bandwidth.

Well - I think that you'll only see something in the "required" tab if the author has put it there. I've been surprised myself a few times until I bought the S-Pass at christmas sale.
