sweetcorncobs
So an alpha of the SKSE64 is out, wondering if I should try it out to use on some ported mods that need it or should I wait for a more stable version of it?
yian
Why not? But just make sure that you know this is gonna be a test run and instability is part of the package. Report bugs to the team and be part of the development process. Edited October 20, 2017 by yian

BlueGunk
So an alpha of the SKSE64 is out, wondering if I should try it out to use on some ported mods that need it or should I wait for a more stable version of it? If you use Mod Organizer 2 you can make another profile and experiment. That's what I'm doing. My main game is running without SKSE, my experimental one is one I can play with (and so far it runs fine).MO2's broken profile system can be managed by using Skyrim Save Game Manager utility [ https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8980/? ] . wfandrews
I decided to give it a try after reading in this forum that many users were running SKE64 with no problems. When I first started a new game I had two bugs which were common when SSE first came out. These were the bug where you could not get out of walk, which I could solve by going into sneak, moving in sneak for a couple of steps and then going out of sneak mode. And the missing terrain bug, which you could only solve by going back to a prior save.. However after playing for a couple of hours and quitting and then loading a save game I have had no further problems and have played for over 10 hours bug free except for one mod, "Wearable Lanterns" which could not detect SKSE64. The mod works fine in the game though. My advice would be to do as BlueGunk does and start a new profile with SKSE64 and SkyUI and see how it goes. As I said I have been playing for over 10 hours with 72 mods and except for those problems in my new game it has been running smoothly. It is so nice to have SkyUI back in the game. Watchman35
Had no issues so far with running skse64. Even frostfall appears to be working now apart from the mcm menu thanks to the release of papyrus.
ElizabethSterling
The only downside I've found thus far is that Frostfall/Campfire are incompatible as the old SKSE/MCM code was never fully removed and attempts to activate. Chesko has been made aware of this but it may be a long time before he gets around to fixing it. thumbincubation
I don't understand what you mean by incompatible. I've just gotten SKSE64, been using both frostfall and campfire, for a while now. Both still work, the same as they have been prior. I don't see any mention of either, under the MCM. Am I missing something?
Kalorean
Quick question to SKSE64. I did install it according to the instructions on a completely new SE installation. However NMM doesn't give me an SKSE64 Option to launch the game. Is that working as intended or did I miss sth?
goranpaa
You should copy / paste a shortcut from the SKSE64 launcher in the game installation directory to your desktop, and always start the game from there. As a safety precausion, run it as administrator by right clicking the properties in the shortcut and then "compability". Tick the "run as admin" box done!
