unable to update to latest fallout4.exe

for once, I'm actually trying to update and it just won't happen. I'm running the last updatedecade version of the game(ending in.20 instead of .26 ) I usually play offline, so today I went online to update and it won't let me. I've launched the game with, and without f4se and everything works fine. in the past I would get a message stating that f4se can't run with the outdated version. I'm definitely using f4se version 5 , and have a copy of 6 on my desktop waiting to be installed. Has anyone had anything like this happen before?

Nope. I'd suggest completing deleting the exe, and that will force steam to re-download and update the game.

 

Also, uninstall F4SE completely until you get this worked out, then install the new version.

Don't know how I didn't think of that, was kinda curious aboutique if anyone had heard of this though, will try that when I get home

my attempt to update was after a fresh re boot, and it doesn't seem to be paused, steam says nothing of needing to update.I also find it weird that my saves load up fine as if I'm using the latest files.
