[LE] Two Handed Blades Greatsword (Ebony Blade Model)

Greetings community!

I've never modded skyrim before but would love to learn how to do the following in the Creation Kit.

Any help is much appreciated!

I want to add a new standalone weapon to Skyrim. A weapon meant to be used by the Blades. The weapon can only be crafted at a Forge and uses the 3D model and texture of the Ebony Blade.

Title: Blades Greatsword
Category: Two-Handed

Increases Two-Handed Skill

Uses Two-Handed Animations (Greatsword)

Benefits from Two-Handed perks

Base Damage: 20

Weight: 17

Gold Value: 585

Craftable, requires the Steel Smithing Perk (perhaps Advanced Armors perk instead) and 5x Steel Ingots, 3x Leather strips and 1x Iron Ingot

Can be upgraded at a Grindstone with a Steel Ingot

Benefits from the Steel Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.

Can be enchanted.

I realize that there are mods out there, but all of them included something I don't want in my game hence why I want to make my own.

Can someone help me with this? Teach me how, or perhaps create the mod for me? Any help is much appreciated!

I've not tried this before but go to weapons, new and then bring select DA08EbonyBlade for a template. Then go back to template and select none. Seems daft, I know but if you use the template you can't edit most of the weapon data. Doing this will leave the correct meshes etcetera for the ebony blade (so that it looks like one!) and let you edit the damage, weight etcetera. Give it a unique ID and a name and alter the description.

You must take out the keywords and replace them with new ones because it's these that govern whether or not the weapon benefits from smithing perks. I'd say you want VendorItemWeapon, WeaponMaterialSteel and WeaponTypeGreatsword. Double check those because it's a while since I've done one of these. The ebony blade has a keyword to prevent it from being enchanted which you certainly don't want.

After that, you'll need to go to constructible Object to sort out the recipe for making and improving it.

Make a new recipe or duplicate and rename an existing one. After that you have to point the recipe at your new weapon, so under created object use the ID of your new weapon. If you work off a duplicate, such as a standard Glass war axe, you'll see how the recipes are done but they're quite straightforward. The constructible object recipe also handles the ingot needed to upgrade them and you select the crafting station here, too. If you duplicate and rename a standard weapon the grindstone will be in there for you already.

If this is a mod for personal use, you can add any perk at all to it but I don't even know if an armor perk will work with a weapon. Even if it does, Id stick with the steel smithing perk if you upgrade it with one. That's in keeping with the blades swords anyway.

I hope this points you in the right direction.
