nox42
I've had my savegames (particularly auto saves) get corrupted by this strange glitch. Upon load, I'm in the middle of nowhere and don't appear to move. However, I can see use signs that indicate I'm still actually in the same room. The mouse only moves on the vertical axis. https://imgur.com/BXqevUF Anyone ever see this?
Grospolina
Are you using an ENB? Does turning off the effects (usually Shift+F12) fix it? If so, then turn off your FXAA and Anisotropic Filtering in SkyrimPrefs.ini: [Display] iMaxAnisotropy=0 iMultiSample=0 bFXAAEnabled=0 Alternatively, you can disable them in the Skyrim Launcher. dualm
You can download a file that allows you to summon a grindstone or some other interactable item into the game world, use it, exit it and it should fix the issue. Also, try jumping? Edited October 27, 2017 by dualm

I've tried disabling ENB entirely. No luck :( savegames still corrupt

Also, try jumping?I'm able to jump! Interacting with items throws the camera way away from the player, often off the map. There's no way to get back. Grospolina
What happens if you open the console (~) and type tfc? This toggles free camera mode. Typing it again puts you back to where you were. You said it only affects some save games right? So it's not a problem with meshes or INI files then.
Deleted3082751User
how big are your save games including how many hours has been put into them. it should be noted, that corrupt means the file in question is irreversibly destroyed, it cannot be repaired. it will not load at all. (basically meaning the file or piece of hardware is completely dead) if your save games keep becoming corrupt then you will need to identify which mod(s) is causing it to corrupt, typically it will be caused by a badly scripted mod or too many scripted mods. as scripts increase the size of saved games much quicker then hours put into them, which can lead to save bloat, which inevitably leads to corruption. typically it will be caused by a mod that is spamming scripts, this is why many people are scared of scripted mods, however if the mod in question is sufficiently made it will not lead to problems, but 1 must be aware of how many scripted mods they are using, as scripted mods effect saved games heavily, and saved games are the single most important part of skyrim. what you are experiencing is not save game corruption, i don't know what it is, some anomaly i suspect but it is definitely not corruption, because as mentioned, corrupt means the save game will not load at all. it could however be Save Bloat which again as mentioned has a high chance to lead into corruption Edited October 29, 2017 by Guest
nox42
how big are your save games including how many hours has been put into them. It's around 15mb/200 hours. Interestingly, it seems to not corrupt saves when I disable the 'crash fixes' mod - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/? Maybe I shouldn't be trying to add it to a game in progress. nox42
Update! I think it's related to horses. All my savegames from yesterday got the same corruption, except one where the camera is on the horse. Horse is in combat automatically fighting people and the camera is horse POV! Grospolina
Interesting. This sounds like the "Horse Camera Bug" (just found out about it through Google). There's a "fix" mod called Horse Camera Bug Fix. You could install that mod, or you can do the temporary fix listed on the description page (using the player.tc console command). I don't know what causes the bug and I haven't experienced it myself.
