A ranger looking for a new home!

The topic says it all - I've been looking around for a home that would suit my ranger-type character.

1) The main thing here is that I like to earn my stuff. Just like with the vanilla houses in Oblivion, you have to earn the money to be able to buy one. It could be either a certain amount of cash or a quest, I just want to feel like I've earned it. :P

2) My character being a Ranger/Hunter Nord, I would prefer the house to be close to nature.

3) For the same reason as above, the house should be more on the small&humble side.

I've had several great house mods that are in the wilderness and they're small enough for my type of character, but the thing is that they're always totally FREE. I always feel more at home in a place that I've paid for or otherwise earned.

Can anyone come up with any mods fitting the bill? :thanks: in advance!

This topic should probably go in file requests.

It is easy enough to dump some monsters into one of the existing houses that you have to clear first. Or describe in more detail the quest you want. It seems rather wasteful to create a new house + quest when you have more than one already perfectly suited to your taste. The great thing about mods is that you can always build on someone else's work, at least for personal use.

Sorry for being so unclear - I was hoping that someone could point me to some already existing house mods that would fit my needs.

The thing is, like I said, that nearly all mod houses are free and/or instantly useable. So I was wondering if there are ANY mod houses that you'd have to pay for, just like with the vanilla Oblivion houses?

I decided to go with Water's Edge Cottage mod, which I found from Oblivion's Real Estate. It's a small, cozy cottage on the road just north of Leyawiin, by the river. It has a small walled front yard and a patio in the back, and the layout of the house makes it feel bigger than it actually is.

Another mod which I have had time to try is the Waldnir's Woods mod. I use that for temporary visits, such as crashing in for a night and as a shelter from sudden rain-/thunderstorms. :P

This got me thinking about having a couple more places to crash in when my hunting trips go late and home is too far away. Do you guys have any ideas? Maybe one in the northern Tamriel, Bruma area and one in the east?

Thanks for all the help so far, guys. :)
