DrIstvaan
Greetings all!I'm not a new member of the TES Nexus, but I'm sure new to the forums. Yes, I know there's a newbies thread to introduce myself, but somehow I'd like to share my idea right now .So. It occured to me, while adventuring with my LVL25 character, "OK, so I loot through Cyrodiil, close a couple of more Oblivion Gates, but what will I ever do with my accumulated money?" Sure, there are horses and houeses to buy, but I, for some reason, don't plan to buy a new horse, and I have a house in almost every city. Also, recharging/repairing items costs money, but I tend to make much more than I spend on recharges and I can fix my own equipment. So, I've come to the idea, there should be special "coins" or tokens that could be bought for some very high amounts of money (say, 50K, 100K, 500K and 1M Septims); they would do nothing good, but they could be carried around in the inventory (say, they would only weigh 0.1), or placed in display cases in Skingrad. They would only be mementos, so that you could be satisfied with yourself 'cause you hoarded up so much gold you could afford them. Also, you could always have the goal of buying an other one, so your adventures and looting sprees would always have a purpose. They could be made in a way similiar to the "House ... Area" letters you buy for your homes, so that they cost a lot to buy, but in reality have a value of 0 once bought.I'm not THAT good at TES modding; I know my way around the CS a bit, but really not much, and also, I absolutely don't know how to handle models/textures (either to create new ones for the tokens or to reskin something already existent). Thus, I'd be grateful if someone more experienced could do it; I think it would be a nice idea.Or, if there is already something similiar to this (you can buy something without any real practical use for a whole fortune), please let me know! (I know, for example, that the Street Market mod adds a Stone Carver from whom you can buy statues and paintings, but they are quite cheap.)Thanks in advance! macmert
If you have that much money, dload and install Kvatch aftemath mode and repair the castle, it sure costs a lot :D
LFact
For spending money:If you're playing caster type, install this or this, then make overpowered spell. Some magic effects will cost so much money(I once made a spell that costs over 600,000 $eptim).
DrIstvaan
Thanks for the suggestions! My char doesn't yet have Master of any spell-schools, but when he'll do, I'll check those two mods. Also, I'll DL the castle repair one, even though I haven't finished everything related to Kvatch, but it sounds fun. Or try thievery in the imperial city, the storyline is great, the voice acting is great, try it out but beware if you are not a stealth PC you might have some difficulties... DrIstvaan
Well, I've set out and finally created a mod of sorts that helps people like me to spend ridiculous amounts of money on non-practical items ;D (but only in Oblivion, not at all in Real life, mind you!).They are four rings, with the models of gold/ebony-emerald/diamond rings. They are bought at Divine Elegance, and their base value is 50K/100K/250K/500K septims. They are just like I've dreamed; they serve no purpose, but I can have the satisfaction of owning one and a goal to gather money for .IF there is interest, I may release it to the public.Anyway, I'll try the aforementioned mods, too, once I've finished the Kvatch line of quests and I'll be master of some magic schools.
