Deleted30104680User
Hello dear community, I have already after a short time (10-15min) the error that the game again crashes to the desktop. I have tried with the reinstallation of skyrim with various changes to the date (skyrim Ini), with Loot and TESV Edit, but nothing helped ... that only one which I can still imagine is that any mods bite .. the CTD´s are random :/ I have times my plugin list with added. Hope you can help me. oh yes I use the Nexus Mod Manager ^^ Yours sincerely, Racewar Edited October 28, 2017 by Guest
twowolves80
Okay, first, that's a lot of mods.First, did you clean the masters? Yes, you must clean the Update.esm, and ALL the DLCs. Dawnguard you must clean twice. It's just that filthy. No, seriously. It can cause errors if you don't.Also, what are your ini edits? Those can have a huge impact. If you're trying to run uGrids higher than default, it can cause instability IF you don't up them in odd numbers only and if you don't also adjust the...crap...LOD settings I believe.Best bet, go to the STEP wiki, especially the Configuring INIs section, and the Troubleshooting section.Last, can you describe to us where it CTDs? That's information we need because if it's CTD-ing in game, that could be a missing or mangled script cause by mod conflicts. If it's CTD-ing at the load screen, that's a horse of a different color. In that case, I would say it might be the SKSE (You do have SKSE, right?).Hope this helps! Edited October 28, 2017 by twowolves80
Deleted30104680User
first thank you for the reply I have forgotten that I have the last reinstalled the game so the inis are back on vanilla, I have the update.esm and the dlcs cleaned as first and only once, I use SKSE synonymous, start the game also over the SKSE launcher. The game crashes by chance, times when forging at the enchanting, times with the "chilling" simply by chance, can not find any connection. while loading it never breaks off but at the beginning of the game two loading screens ... LOL I will times times the sides, and again clean up everything
twowolves80
Hey, no problem, man. I'm trying to be more present on these forums to help out a bit and pay it back to the community, so I don't like to let others hang if I can help. :)Yeah, you got the basics down, just make sure you always clean Dawnguard twice. It has something to do with errors being generated by invalid references in the DLC, I believe. I'm sure there are more knowledgeable modders here who can explain it a lot better than I can. It sounds almost like a VRAM issue, not something you did wrong. Just that your system can't handle running it. I would try to scale back on high-resolution texture mods, and try running Skyrim Performance Monitor. It's not hard to set up (you just get the program installed manually, then point it to the SKSE launcher so that it launches SKSE through itself and can provide telemetry on your VRAM usage). This is a great tool to use anytime you have oddball and seemingly random crashes. And it comes in a x64 Bit variant for Special Edition, too.You may also want to peruse the STEP guide, especially their part about tweaking the INI files. One thing they don't mention, but I always recommend, is to simply comment below each INI tweak so you know exactly what you tweaked, and what the default for it is so you can put it back if you tweak something that causes problems. You will save yourself hours of headache. Just start your comment line with a semicolon, ";" without the quotation marks. The STEP guide's page for tweaking INIs is one of the best I've ever found that explains it very succinctly and in a way that's easy to understand.I think the Skyrim Performance Monitor will be the best tool to determine what is going on under the hood, and it's fairly user-friendly, nothing super-complicated like the CK. lolHope this helps!:)
Deleted30104680User
I have tried it now with the performance monitor but everything looks fine for me: / MIn Max Memory: 101MB 2,902MBVRAM: 272MB 2,482MBDisk I/O: 1MB 197MBCPU%: 1% 62%GPU%: 1% 100%GPU °C: 35 °C 63 °CThreads: 29 59FPS: 1
Deleted30104680User
MY INi Changes
twowolves80
I would start looking at the INI values you've changed. Google them. See if there's any warnings that come up about changing them. Shadows on grass alone could be a VRAM-suck if it's trying to render shadows on each blade of grass. Something tells me the LOD settings may be awry, but it's a gut feeling. Perhaps change them back, and see if there's a difference? And since this is Old Rim, this solution may help you when used in conjunction with this mod. Also, shot in the dark here, but...have you run WryeBash, and if so, were any of the boxes orange? Deleted30104680User
in Wrye Bash are all the mods that use Dawnguard.esm, Hearthfires.esm and Dragonborn.esm red: / and the guide brings me nothing, because I understand nothing ^ ^
twowolves80
Okay, well, let's figure it out. First, is it red letters or red boxes? If the text is red or orange, it means one thing, if the boxes are, it means another. A red checkbox means it's missing a master, which means you may have to reverify cache, then clean the DLCs again. Save your INI files to your desktop until after you launch the steam browser the first time (to generate the INIs), and then just drag them into the appropriate folder (should be My Documents\Games\Skyrim or something along those lines). WryeBash takes a bit of getting used to, and I am by no means an expert, i just know how to use it to do one or two things. We'll both be learning something troubleshooting this. lol
Deleted30104680User
there is only red boxes only Skyrim.INI and SkyrimPrefs.INI or all?
