Wraith3
Does anyone know exactly which texture file contains the laser rifle textures? I've got Nifskope pointed at that folder, but I just want to find the exact file.

jkruse05
There are multiple textures for different parts, you need to be more specific. The texture for the receiver? barrels? stocks? Use the Bethesda Archive Extractor to explore and extract the various possibilities. I recommend GIMP with the .dds plugin to look at them. Don't forget that there are also three .dds files for each part, the normal matte texture that has all the color and detail, a normal map that makes grooves and marks look 3d, and a specular map that affects shininess in-game. Something like laserrifle_d.dds, laserrifle_n.dds, laserrifle_s.dds Edited November 1, 2017 by jkruse05
Wraith3
Ah ok. I was trying to avoid moving all the textures to another PC, but I guess I'll have to. So much for "Why would I ever need a thumb drive larger than 4GB?" lol I'm building a prop replica of the laser rifle so I had meshes extracted for reference. Thanks! jkruse05
Oh, if that's all you can totally get away with just 4gb, just use those tools I linked and talked about to dig them out. You'll only need the _d.dds textures for your purposes. The textures for the laser rifle are in Fallout4-Textures3.ba2 and Fallout4-Textures4.ba2 under textures/weapons/LaserWeapons The Microfusion Cell texture is in Fallout4-Textures2.ba2 in the same folder.
