FullmetalAdmin
So I'm new to using the Creation Kit. I got into it because I wanted to add custom followers for a more immersive roleplay with the character file I've been using. I created the NPC (for simplicity, we'll call her NPC1). After making her, I looked up how to place her into the game itself, specifically, into the Bee and Barb in Riften (obviously, via Object Window > World Data > Location > RiftHoldLocation > RiftenLocation > RiftBeeAndBard). Once I had NPC1 placed where I wanted her, using the F key to drop her to the ground, I then saved, and launched the game via SKSE64 Launcher. Loaded my file, opened the console and typed <help "NPC1"> to make sure she had been added to the game data. I then fast traveled to Riften, and entered the Bee and Barb. Sure enough, sitting at one of the tables was NPC1, fully loaded with her outfit (DraugrArmorForNonDraugrNoHelmet), weapon (ebony sword in case you wanted to know), and the FemaleCommander voice. I initiated dialogue, and had the "Follow me. I need your help" option. However, something was wrong. She was the only NPC inside the Bee and Barb, there was a wall mesh missing from the far side door on the right side (where Mercurio usually sits) and the wall itself seems to have actually moved itself into the interior of the Bee and Barb, visibly blocking off the bar where Keerava and company stand/sit. However, it was not a solid mesh, and I could walk right through it, though the game seemed to skip a frame when I did. I knew then I'd obviously made an error, but I can't figure out how to reset the cell (ctrl+Z doesnt seem to have done anything). Is any experienced user of the Creation Kit able to help me? Or do I need to uninstall and reinstall Skyrim Special? (Unfortunately, the forum wont let me post screenshots because they're being saved at well over 250kb, which is the max for file attachments)
FullmetalAdmin
Also, while we're on the topic, I initially exported a character I made so I could use her gendata, but when I tried to import it, I guess the mods I was using for character creation wouldnt let me import it because those files weren't loaded, but when I tried to load them into the creation kit for the plugin, it kept telling me "Multiple Master Files loaded. Aborting load" or something like that. How can I work around this?
GrimThor3
It's the guy from facebook. 1. The Multiple Master Files loaded is when you have more than one .esm file opened. You can find the solution here. 2. The missing wall is because the mesh file has disappeared3. The missing NPCs is probably because you changed the settings of Bee and the Bard so that they cannot find the location anymore. I have yet to work with Custom Followers, so I cannot help you too much, but that is where I'd begin. I would go back into CK and check in the Renderer that nothing changed. When I put in something into the game, I usually just drag them from the Object Window into the Renderer.
FullmetalAdmin
I have figured out how to load multiple master files, but its still not letting me import my custom character appearance. Also still cant figure out how to reset the Bee and Barb
FullmetalAdmin
And now the creation kit is crashing whenever I load itis there another editing tool similar to the creation kit, but less buggy, that is available?
Tasheni
No, there isn't another tool but some things can be achieved with TESVEdit. I use this only for cleaning or sometimes debugging, so I can't help with it.For your Bee and Barb problem: Go back to a previous save of your esp or do the whole creating process again with a new esp. It looks like you have messed up something and this will prevent ck from loading your esp. Look at this tutorial from Skyla, it shows exactly the steps of character creating and getting them right into game. You can use this method with either ece or racemenue or whatever you prefer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcHw4sqrrx8If you create your companion only with the ck you can skip all the steps with NifMerge. Mostly ck is crashing if you do something the kit can't handle. If you do something that is wrong, the kit will not come up with a message but simply crash. It will also crash if you try to open too much windows. For some processes you just need to wait until it's finished operating before clicking another option or window to open. Hope this will help. I did figure out what my dumbass mistake was, and am happy to report that my CK is working perfectly for that; I had successfully added like 8 or 9 custom followers now; gonna take some time to figure out how to add quests for them
FullmetalAdmin
and now, no matter what I edit, skyrim crashes whenever I get close to them. No dirty edit, no corrupted ini files, no corrupted nav mesh, no itm files...several hours of editing, down the drain. thanks, skyrim, for being a piece of s#*!
