weird corrupting saves

i've been searching far and wide for answers to this, finally i gave up and had to ask for help. i know i won't have a super fix considering i have other modding issues that nothing on the internet can resolve. it's some crash on exit that i swear i've tried everything to resolve. i either have to go searching into my computer as a non-savvy or literally limit my plugins to 10. onto the main issue!

my saves go temporarily corrupt. if i reload the game, the save files are back up and can be loaded. if i go indoors, on most occasions i can save. i think the place has to be really small e.g. a motel room in novac, house in goodsprings, community made safehouse. places like the tavern and shop in goodsprings dont work. and this is all regardless of red x's that appear after the game goes corrupt the first time during the playthough.

here's a kicker - it does not matter what combination of mods i'm using. i didnt want to try uninstalling all of my mods that effect the open world before seeking advice. im hoping there is a less drastic solution. i'll make a list of things i've tried in case that helps. if nothing but to get rid of the obvious troubleshooting

-i've tried a bunch of different load orders by following what modders have put in their instructions, how LOOT orders my plugins, plus handfuls of different combinations

-NMM's archive invalidation

-fnvedit to create a merge patch

-never using a mod that NMM asks to overwrite another

-making sure, at least for the obvious ones, that no mod would conflict (choosing ones that have no reports of mod conflicts, not using the same kind of mod, not using mods that recreate or distribute items in the same areas aside from nvinteriors

-due to my crash when exiting the game, anti-crashes and stutter removers only cause more problems for me but i do use the most popular 4gig memory mod, nvse, jpe plugin, and yup.

could i still just have too many things in my world? i read something about this "bloating" save files, but i cant find my exact problem anywhere on the internet. has anyone else run into this or solved it? the only mods i have that mess with the outside is electro city, goodsprings filler, rusttown and one or two that add a minimal amount of npcs. this doesnt include the mods that add a couple things like the rockwell pursuit (a building, an area to get to the new location). is there a way to keep all of my mods and fix the problem?

another kicker - i have zero lag, zero stutter. everything runs great, maybe better than when i played it on the 360. just these damn corrupt saves.

if anyone has any advice or stories to share i'd greatly appreciate it. i know without me fixing my initial crash issue nothing will ever work as it's suppose to but i'm praying to baby jesus for a workaround. i've been trying to mod my game for almost 3 weeks now without getting to really play; learning via too many failed attempts to count. but thanks in advance for any reply

Go to where your NVSR is installed and open the .ini. Look for the line "bFastExit = 0 and change it to read "bFastExit = 1". Save and exit the .ini. This should allow you to exit without crashing.

Be aware that one error may mask a number of other errors, which will not appear until those masking them have been resolved. Building a stable game consists of resolving each problem individually until none remain, and then realizing that every change you make thereafter (including updates to mods already installed) run the risk of introducing new problems.

Start with M48A5's advice. That is the most common fix for the "exit the game" problem. To the best of my knowledge it is 100% effective.

Did you install Steam to it's default location? If so, please see the wiki "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article for why the original default Steam behavior of installing games to the "C:\Program Files" folder tree was bad (they learned better, and don't do that any more); and why "disabling UAC and running as Administrator" is NOT sufficient, with instructions how to move it. This is the single most important thing you can do to fix and protect yourself against problems in the future. As much of a PITA as that is, it's never going to be any easier than now. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article as well. If you are having as many problems as your post indicates, suggest you read that entire article.

There are definite problems in the vanilla game as delivered from the publishers, so some fixes are required and they by necessity have to overwrite files already installed. This is less of an issue than the sequence in which they are installed, referred to as the "install order". That subject is covered in the "General Advice" article referred to above. The "essential" fixes are also linked in that article.

Everyone starts out as "non-savvy" regarding computers. There is nothing intuitive about the subject. It takes time to learn, but you can learn it. You just have to start reading up and asking qu3estions on each problem one at a time and after awhile you find you have become "more savvy" than not. Have patience and persistence.
