Tigrah2k
Hey all, I recently decided to purchase FO4, and really have enjoyed the game. I'm starting to experiment with mods now, and was wondering - without employing creation club - what are some recommended mods? I'm a huge fan of the Sim Settlements mods, and the crafting ammo mods. I found some stability issues after adding some others, so I'm looking for a list of some good mods that are known to be compatible too. I've posted this on the Bethesda forums too, but I have a feeling they are more prejudiced in favor of the CC... I don't believe in it, so I choose to avoid it. PoorlyAged
What DLC are you utilizing. I ask because some mods which might be recommended will require some or all DLC. And some authors have simply stopped supporting anything but their "all dlc required" versions of mods.
Deleted33373940User
Workshop Rearranged is something that Bethesda should have done, if you are into settlements that is. Can't play without it now. FO4 NPCs Travel and Crowded Commonwealth are great for in game immersion.
jkruse05
I highly recommend Sim Settlements, which you said you're already familiar with, and Junkmaster, which is unfortunately only on beth.net. That, along with the unofficial patch, adds numerous fixes, logical features, weapons, and more. I doubt I'll ever play Fallout 4 again without those and Full Dialogue Interface. If you're big on the settlement side of things you pretty much have to have Place Everywhere and Scrap Everything, plus something to raise the build limit. Take a look at Better Settlers and Orphans of the Commonwealth for a bigger variety of people in your settlements. Vanilla Extensions will fill in many of the gaps in the vanilla building pieces lists, and mods like Settlement Markers and Invisible Furniture will give your settlers more to do when not working. For combat stuff I can recommend Knockout Framework with Non-Lethal Armory, and Grenade Expansion Pack 2 for expanding combat options rather than just MOAR GUNS ARARARARAR. I also like Useful Crank, which makes the laser musket have essentially infinite ammo, and Syringer Ammo Simpler Ingredients, which got me to actually use that weapon. See-Through-Scopes is great as well. For high level characters use Static Enemy Levels. It makes so enemies won't keep getting health beyond the point where you are unable to increase the damage you deal. In vanilla every enemy becomes an extreme bullet sponge at high levels (like, 80+). For a stronger atmosphere use Darker Nights, Reverb and Ambiance Overhaul, and Legendary Lamps. For survival definitely grab Survival Options, to customize your experience. I also like Rename Anything and Create Your Own Difficulty Rebalance. I had, at one point, about 240 mods installed, I've now culled it down to about 180, but those are the ones I would start with.
Tigrah2k
I have all official expansions. i purchased the season pass as soon as I decided I enjoyed FO4. I'll be looking into some of the other recommendations as well. One question... I recently ran into a mod related glitch where the elevator platform and gate going into/out of Vault 111 were invisible. Anyone have a notion on what's up with that, and which mods I should be suspicious of as culprits?

PoorlyAged
First and foremost, Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch Next, to get the abundant keys out of the MISC inventory tab, keyNuker and keyRing - Hidden keys For the sharing of 'stuff' across DLC and base game, DLC Leveled List Integration To keep settlers from stealing from your chests, Hands Off - Lock Settlement Containers For a fun little jet pack/jump assist, CROSS Jetpack If you like collecting and massaging power armor, Buildable Power Armor Frames and Restore Power Armor Frames And to toot my own horn, check out the link to my mods below. Tigrah2k
For a stronger atmosphere use Darker Nights, I cannot find the Nuka World edition of True Storms, which Darker Nights apparently requires... Any thoughts on where to look for it?

Any thoughts on where to look for it? Is it actually a requirement? I know Darker Nights has an installer where you can choose to install a compatibility patch for it, but unless it's a recent development True Storms shouldn't actually be required.
