crowbaits
Hi! I'm new, so I ask for a bit of patience! I'm playing original Skyrim, modded. I will be walking around, and for seemingly no reason, the game will crash. No notifications of any kind, and it boots back up fine, only to crash again.I use NMM + Steam Workshop mods. I use TES5Edit, and newly using LOOT so I don't know too much about it. I'm not tech-savvy really, so bear with me!Here's my system, I hope this helps Here are LOOT screenshots Here is my NMM Mod List
praxis22
Try this: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/wiki/beginners_guide Skyrim is a harsh mistress, once you've been doing it for a few years you'll get the hang of it, but the link covers the basics. If you'd rather watch videos, then Gopher, GamerPoets & DirtyWeasel on YouTube have you covered. The general take on Steam Workshop mods is that they're bad idea. the "Why?" is that load order is of critical importance to Skyrim, so having something that may spontaneously update without your knowing it, (and thus change you load order) is just asking for trouble. That and not cleaning your masters. You may also want ENBoost, and most of the mods made by Meh321, as they affect the deep structure of the game. Which is 32bit only (unless you use SE) cranky and poorly programed in many respects. However, once you've been doing it for a few years, then you will have enough knowledge to avoid most of the gotchas. If you're going to heavily mod it, (standards differ, but 50 mods is an arbitrary yardstick) then you should probably rebuild with STEP and use MO, (though STEP will walk you through all that) it's a great/stable base for future expansion, and you can just make it a profile in MO for when you feel like a new build. If you read this and think, "a few years, as you nuts!" then I'd advise you to go play the game unmodded, and come back later. There is a reason why after 6 years that 22K people are still playing a single player RPG daily, you may also want more RAM, and a couple of SSD's
Grospolina
Besides getting a mod manager and getting off Steam Workshop as praxis22 says, here are a few things:Remove SMIM-SE-Merged-All.esp! This is for Special Edition and I'm not sure how you installed that. This would probably cause crashes. You have the "No Dragonborn" version of SMIM. If you want the full version, get it from Nexus.Install Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch (USLEEP) and remove Unofficial Skyrim Patch.Remove UFO and replace it with Amazing Follower Tweaks, Immersive Amazing Follower Tweaks or Extensible Follower Framework (last 2 are only on Nexus). UFO is somewhat buggy.

Unfortunately the crashes still occur. For the record, I have been playing for several years, and this is the first time I've had to reach out for help! I'm unsure of what to do next, I'm not sure what to look for I suppose. I've tried to edit my load order to what seems to be fit, but alas. The same issue is here. I saw that I should look for a mod manager, is NMM not enough? Thank you for the advice.
wfandrews
Did you start a new game after removing mods and adding USLEEP. NMM is adequate as a mod manager although for Skyrim MO is a better mod manager, although the learning curve is a bit higher. I have been using NMM for some years now and my mod load is between 80 and 100 mods on average. For many on this forum that is a pretty light mod load. After unsubbing your workshop mods did you go to Skyrim/Data and C:/Nexus Mod Manager/Skyrim. where NMM keeps your mods by default, and manually delete those work shop mods? Also you might want to check out Wrye Bash and create a bash patch.
