IPhaedraI
Hello, first post here and it's a request for help  So, I want to create a new tattoo for human females, I've read the tutos I could find (lot of broken links, dead pages etc...), exporting/importing texture with Modmaker is simple enough. Now where I'm stuck: In the preview I see in Modmaker I get this: http://hpics.li/7db692b Ok, that's exactly what I want, I export and open the dds in GIMP... only to find this abomination instead: http://hpics.li/c33e928 I tried playing around with layers, alpha, image settings but really I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Yes, I'm a noob. So, I know this forum is not very active anymore, but if anyone could toss me any idea, link that could help the situation I'd be eternally grateful. Thank you! EightLights
Can you see the channels in GIMP? Photoshop has a setting under "Layer" that allows to see separate channels (as in ARBG). You should try turning the Red and Green channel off, see what you might find. Let me know :)
IPhaedraI
Thank you for your reply! I thought it was a lost cause. Anyway, here's the result: layer alpha and blue only https://i.imgur.com/DL0fYx0.pngSo yes, I can see part of the tattoos if I only use a color layer+alpha, but only in the black shape of the alpha. Weird.
EightLights
Ok, just checked it myself. So how this works is that all the tattoos are condensed in a single file. What the Alpha does is transparency (and that weird full face tattoo). Ignore the alpha and just replace the channel you want, for example Red. Turn off all other channels and work only in that one. Use a white brush to draw and erase using black. When you import it to the game you should see it Edited November 12, 2017 by EightLights
EightLights
Also, remember to save back as a .DDS (I think it "Export as..." in GIMP). For "Compression", choose "BC3/DXT5". For "Mipmaps", select "No mipmaps". Your file will be exported as a .dds file that's ready to import into Mod Maker.

EightLights
No problem! Happy modding! (your first born wouldn't happen to have an archdemon in it would it? xD)
IPhaedraI
Well, I've always been of the opinion that kids are just really cute, pocket-sized archdemons anyway... so, yes
EightLights
Also, for future reference to anyone: Make sure to load Transparency as the Alpha Channel when you open the file so you can make any sense of it.
