Overnight my mod started crashing the CK and game, any help appreciated.

Hey all,

 

I've been working on a Whiterun Overhaul mod as well as a flora mod and was about 99% done with them when the esp suddenly stopped working and would lockup my entire PC when loading into Whiterun in game or the CK. Occassionly it would load in the CK but only markers would appear and then the CK would eventually crash.

 

Before all this happened I had the Ck loaded with my esp in the background whilst working on meshes for some laundry utilising the banner mesh, and playing with the mountain flower mesh trying to work out the best shaderproprties to stop the glow. I didin't actually edit anything in the CK and just shut it down for the night when I went to bed. Came back the next day and ......

 

To try to remedy this I have tried:

  • Recreating it using SSEedit by copying into a new esp - didn't solve anything
  • Removing all recently touched meshes just in case it was a dodgy mesh - didn't solve anything
  • Removed every Whiterun terrain mesh I've altered - didn't solve anything
  • Gone into Skyrim\Backup and used a backup from 12 days ago in case it was corrupted - didn't solve anything.

The esp was very close to the limit according to the render window at 99.87% but I have read that in a outside worldspace it's ok to exceed this, not that I took this as fact. Could this be the problem?

 

Any help on this would be very much appreciated.

If a backup from 12 days ago is not working now and assuming it was working 12 days ago then your problem is something other than your esp. Is your CK working correctly? Is the esp finding all the resources it needs?

This problem has reared it's ugly head again.

 

I've remade it once again and am once again around the max size limit according to the render window, luckily I have a version from just before it brakes on me this time.

 

If I was to fire it up in the CK now at some point in that session something brakes. I go into game and things I've moved are back in their original positions. After ivestigation it appeared that JK's had been removed as a master, and due to me cleaning it after each session all edits to jk's had been removed.

 

Ok i thought it's only one sessions work no biggy and re did that nights work. Again JKs was removed as a master by the CK, this time I didn't clean it and re added JK's as a master but edited things still appeared in game.

 

I started that sessions work again this time adding a bit more and once again JKs gets removed but this time I get instant CTD.

 

If anyone could shed some light on this please I would be very grateful as it's getting very frustrating.
