What's a good pc to have for the ultimate realistic skyrim?

PSU 460 w.

That's the one thing I really dislike about Dell (which owns Alienware). They always push the PSU's they put in their systems to the absolute limit, and that 460W PSU is an example of that. I personally would not suggest putting such high end components in such a small capacity PSU, something like a 750W PSU as a minimum would be much better. I highly suggest never overclocking anything in your system as long as that PSU is in there. With that said, enjoy your system I guess. The specs are otherwise very solid.

Hi

The Corsair MX300 is a good choice for games like this. My Modded Fallout 4 was stuttering mess on an HD but runs smooth on my MX300.

1440 is a big jump from 1080 & 27" is a perfect size for that resolution.

If you are worried about your PSU run a stress test like Firestrike. If your PSU can't handle it your PC will switch off.

I have a GTX 1080 ti.

The spec sheet says 600 watts or greater. The spec sheet on the GTX 1080 says 500 watts.

I use a 1000 watts for my 1080 ti & 750 watts for my GTX 1080.

The 1000 watt PSU allows me to use SLI. When I built the computer in 2016 I used 2X GTX 980 ti. It may have 2X 1080 ti in the future.

All my PSUs are Corsair Gold.

Since a better PSU is my next upgrade, could you guys recommend one that could play well with my current specs plus maybe a GTX1080ti (more like the next after that one call it gtx1090 maybe?) in the future?

I suggest this PSU as an upgrade. Not sure if it will fit in the Alienware Chassis you have, but I assume that it takes standard sizes.

My setup:

i7 6800k

GTX 1070

500GB SSD

16 GB G-Skill DDR4

Razer Deathadder Mouse

Razer Deathstalker Keyboard

2x 24 inch Asus Monitor

Computer has held up against everything Iâve thrown at it. And provides me with the best and most stable Skyrim experience I have ever had :)

I'm also very interested on buying SSE and modded the heck out of it as I did on oldrim. I have a ASUS ROG laptop i7-2630qm 2.00ghz, 16G DDR3, GPU GeForce GTX 560 with 2g dedicated DDR5 memory 2g shared.

7 years with it so far and has been very good for oldrim but i'm careful with heavy textured and scripted mods, and never used an ENB for the same reason. Also tweaked the ini settings to have from 30-50 fps.

I'm looking for a similar laptop to play modded SSE but this time without worries. Maybe something between 800 to 1200USD?

ANy good suggestions?

I could probably try to build a desktop, but I lack the ability to program and build a PC

If it must be a laptop, this is a good value for the money.

Asus GL703VM-NH74:

Here is a cheaper alternative. Slower than the other by quite a bit when it comes to the GPU - but it's not bad at all.

MSI GL62M 7RDX:

Here is are some pre-built desktops that is a pretty solid deal. You will need to buy a monitor, but that's all you'd need to buy after that.

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8060A5 Gaming PC:

Monitor suggestions. None of these computers should be gaming at resolutions over 1080p most of the time, so 1080p is the native resolution for the monitors I've linked.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd put this out there for anyone still wondering.

I have an Asus GL703VM and have been playing everything under the sun in ultra settings with very nice fps since I got it. It's an amazing laptop I paid $1029 for on newegg and adding few things for total of about $1300.

I have been stuck in Skyrim LE because of limited mods for SE all this time and just recently started playing SE. Let me save you some time, frustration, and money. DO NOT buy this laptop to play SE on. It's fantastic for everything else, but for some reason SE will make the CPU and GPU overheat and to the ranges of 87-97 degrees which will cause it to throttle making your game play at 3 to -10 fps.

Away from cities you'll be able to play about 30 min to an hour before this happens, in cities about 5 min.

And before you ask or say something, yes, my fans and heatsink are super clean and old thermal paste remove and replaced with arctic silver and nothing is overclocked.

I'm getting ready to build a desktop just to play this game for $1600 with R9 3900x and RTX 2060.

SO to be fair, if you're going with a laptop, do not go cheap. Look more into the cooling system than the awesome specs.

Laptops are designed for portability and low power consumption. They were never meant to act as workstations, which is effectively (with augmented video and audio) what modern gaming computers are based on. Workstations are designed for horsepower, not portability.

Exceptions exist, I'm sure, but to me, it's like gambling that your 3-cylinder eco-car will be able to pull a 35 ft yacht over the mountains to the sea...One you're *almost sure to lose.

Fastest proc you can buy, a high perf mother board, most and best primary RAM, best video you can afford (with at least 6 or 8G of VRAM), SSD vs conventional hard drive for main, and auxiliary standard HD for mod archiving.... and cooling, consider outfitting it with extreme cooling options. For instance, if your proc is rated for 180W, find a cooler rated for double or triple that at least. I'd also recommend a good quality tower case to pack it all into. Audio is up to you. I got a ZXR as replacement for my now apparently defunct midi-capable CL music comp cards, and I route it through a cheap 3 speaker system (stereo with sub) I picked up on Ebay over ten years ago.
