flatbush71
The title pretty much says it all.Do you guys think there would be enough people interested? This would be for Despy's Comic Collector Mod. I use Bunker 13 for the default mags and all of Red Rocket's player homes for the DLC, Chuck's and RR's custom mags. But for 1300+ mags a special area is needed. A single door in one of the city areas leading into a single cell with multiple magazine racks. Or is there a modder out there who has great interest in doing something like this and is also a collector of mags and comics. I built a ad-hoc display in the vault to gauge the area and its ok. By building squares its 4 x 7 for a rectangle shaped room. I would very much like to hear the community's thoughts and ideas.I'm constantly trying to come up with post-game ideas for continued game play. If you haven't played hardcore mode at levels greater than 150 you are missing out on a lot of fun. BuckFO4 Date 11/29/2289Level
montky
indeedIt used to be in level 7 'reading lounge' of the red rocket spa and resort, north concord. and, every 'books' (that's rad-speak for 'school') in the wasteland had'learning materials' hehe. school of the airwaves with 3Dawg,or if they're real lucky, maybe 1 computer terminal for the whole school hehe. I ran out of room in the 'real' FO4 persistent verse,so, I store the comics in the Memory Den Virtual Holodeck 'reading room partition'it's a custom new-lands framework, which is phluppin' awesome IMHO. (an homage to J L Borges/ C Sagan).the entry area is a holographic arch as from a voy era, with the 'tron-grid',then the interior being a bauhaus library...2D-3D animations imply it is an infinite library hehe. I also have, thanks to the Regulators of the Commonwealth mod,Kal, The Fantome, the lone green rad-ghost holo-power-armor ranger, and 'robo-cop" (a citizen in police protectron disguise)as companions. with RuadHan2300's site-to-site teleporter,I can also teleport straight there!or, if I can find the TARDIS, I can just use the tardis interior new-lands area, and using 'any door to any where', jump from there to inside the Memory Lounger Virtual Holodeck... I have 'lenticular cover comicbooks', holographic comics written in 'alien-ese",notably a few books lent by that guy from kansas. (it's a reward if you help him get back to his universe) damaged fragments, those are art spiegelman style palimpsests on 'found media'...think 'the collected works of TS Spivet" type stuff. metallic acid-etched 'encyclicals',mud tablets, and other artefacts. I can even read all of JonXOr's FO4 comics... from in FO4!not to mention, all the other known language editions etc.'grafica novelas" indeed. kludging this mod;https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4035940-readable-books/it is possible to make that minigame throw to awebpage for say project gutenberg or various comics archives...you have a window cutout, and the browser 'under' that, when you're done, closing the browser throws back to the game etc.not to mention, comics directories such as at devart which have openGNU or free comics, among others.I figure that its' like music streaming while gaming, so why not go full "Back2theFuture"and have comics-streaming like that too why not hehe. Using AGI, GIMPScriptFu etc, it is also possible to have an AGI/Neural Net craft procedural iterative 'magazines'given the archetype template... think "Bill S Burroughs random pastiche protocol"in such a way as to be 'incompleteness/uncompleteable" hehe.talk about a 'neverending story'. I thought that was a very 'garth marenghi' comicbook kludge;"if you must only buy one book, buy this one, which is all of them" hehe. -----If motion comics ala "The Watchmen" etc are more your thing,we're working on that too, with embedable aural and visual nurbs-surfaces, decal animation layer switching, all that fun stuff. so, you really only need the '1' comicbook, which is like the 'E-reader/pip-pad" variant... unless you're nostalgic and want 'physical' copies hehe. I'm hoping we see a lot more mod-collabs this way.I definitely know a few folks in comics want to see this sorta thing emerge.
yzerman19
Surely, there is more than enough interest in this. All you have to do is build it...and the players will flock to it.
