Okay, so I have an on-going problem, it seems.

So, as you can see, the cloak and the hair are floating above the shoulders. Not acceptable, especially considering that the pigtail floating under the cloak looks like crap.

Assets used:

Apachii Sky Hair

Cloaks of Skyrim
CBBE
XPMSSE

FNIS

Attempts At Troubleshooting:

Installed everything, ran FNIS, ran LOOT, ran Wryebash (everything is green), etc.

I use NMM 0.63.17 and SKSE64 build 2.0.5 (for runtime 1.5.16).

I've attempted to adjust the cloak in Outfit Studio by highlighting the Cloak object in the right pane and adjusting the Move... sliders (Z-axis) down, then used the mesh brushes to pull up the cloak around the shoulders to make it look more natural. Exported To NIF with Reference... to cloakgreyhide_0.nif and cloakgreyhide_1.nif in the Data/Meshes/Clothes/CloaksofSkyrim folder. Still floats. Then Exported To Nif with Reference... to the NMM folder: D:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\SkyrimSE\Mods\Virtual Install\18422\Meshes\Clothes\CloaksofSkyrim folder.

Those are the only two folders, I believe that the game generates data from dynamically, so where the bloody frell is this floating cloak coming from?

In Outfit Studio, when loaded through the Load Outfit and the body loaded through Load Reference, it looks fine. It's where it's supposed to be. Load it up in the game, and I get this mess.

When I attempted to adjust the hair piece for Apachii, all that happened was it doubled, so that there was two hairs on my character--one with a pig tail resting across the shoulder like it should, and one with the pigtail floating above the other. No idea how that happened since all I did was use the mesh brushes to "push" the pigtail down a bit and Exported to NIF...

Clearly, I need help as I'm out of my element and I don't understand why it's needlessly being such a pain in the ass. I'm hoping someone will come along, and be like, "Oh, yeah, just tick this box and it will be fixed!" lol Somehow, I doubt it will be that easy...

Did it fit before? Looks like she's too skinny for the cloak to me  And that the cloak didn't catch up or something. Maybe the cloak isn't fitted for your CBBE body? I'm thinking if it expects the vanilla body perhaps. Oh, and hi again!

Well, on Apachii's site, the author says that it's built for the Curvy CBBE body, not the petite, so that's why Apachii is acting odd, which is fine because I'll just use a different hair style (#2 looks just as good as #3). I'll definitely have to post pics of the finished character, whose working name currently is Arwyn Bow-Song (a half-elf from Cyrodil).

As for the cloak...I didn't have a problem with it in the last iteration, and that was a RS Children Overhaul play through. Both files were set with the cloak on the shoulders, with a NIF reference. It shouldn't be floating. There has to be a way to adjust the z-position and make it stick.

Either that, or once I again, I've somehow stumbled into the bug from last time where the reference body is a lot bigger than the body in game, but I don't think so. She has piercings that don't float, and the Cubic Hairs Renewal doesn't float, either (and is a much more realistic option than the painted-on look of putting hair on the skin texture map). I mean, where is it getting it's position reference information from? I don't get it. Both files where it should be generating the data from, it's not.

And hi, to you, too! lol We seem to keep running into each other! :P Between the two of us, we may get this forum thread cleaned up! lol

In Outfit Studio, you have the option of exporting to NIF, with or without the reference body. Basically, from what I've gathered, it's a placeholder for the outfit you're adjusting. But including it allows you to alter the body for that specific outfit (so it appears in game with the altered reference body, for example) so anyone who wears that outfit will have that body show up. You can set reference by right clicking the object in the object pane on the right in Outfit Studio and selecting Set Reference. I don't know...I have a love-hate relationship with Outfit Studio. lol

Okay, I did not understand but I'll have to investigate it.

But we shouldn't go totally off-topic though. This is about cloaks! :pirate:

I do not have any idea what could cause it though so I'm afraid I'll have to do a tactical retreat. I'm mainly good with CK stuff.

lol Yes. That is one of my favorite mods, too--such a small mod that adds a dramatic difference to the game. That, and NeoValen's awesome mod, Skyrim Coin Replacer Redux.

Is there a way to add more things to the Batch Build dialogue box that pops up? It will ask you what outfits you want to build--how do we add more to that? Maybe if I could batch build the outfit to the body shape, it would function...which requires, what, saving the outfit as a project? See, this is where I lose coherency in Outfit Studio/BodySlide. Seems a bit much to wrap my brain around, but I'll get it...eventually. lol

lol I had a sinking feeling you were going to suggest I need to convert it over. I don't get it, though. It worked last time out of the box. Hmm...now I suppose you'll tell me next that I have to learn to apply sliders to it.

No one said there'd be learning involved! Sheesh! What if I just want to be lazy and phone it in? lol :P
